This is good stuff. I binged S1 over Christmas and am caught up on S2.
Who else is irritated by Santos?

I like the Santos character at times. I thought what she did at the end of season 1 taking in farm boy after she found him basically homeless living in the hospital showed a good side. This season she has been annoying. The whining about charting needs to stop. And clearly much like Jason Segel in shrinking she needs to get laid. She got blown off by the surgeon last EP. “You coming over tonight farm boy is going to see farm widow”. “nope.” Pretty sure Robbie picked up on all of that.
That's gold Jerry. Legal gold !todd-parker wrote: ↑15 Jan 2026 08:16 amWhere are you reading/hearing about the rumors surrounding Noah Wylie and his treatment of his castmates? I know there were some questions regarding the removal of the Dr. Collins character and whether it had anything to do with the actress's church but that doesn't seem to be the case.3dender wrote: ↑15 Jan 2026 07:38 amI'm not really into hospital shows, but was probably going to give this one a shot until I found out about the litigation between Wyle and the ER producers, who claim he stole this. I think this was even supposed to be his ER character originally.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 19:58 pmYeah, this was orginally developed as a reboot of ER, and it seems to me like an emotionally broader, more network TV version of that. Which is odd, since ER was on NBC and this is streaming. (It makes me curious to revisit ER and see if it is as gritty as I remember.)George Zipp wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025 10:35 am I’m up to about noon. I like the show. When it first came out my thoughts were I don’t much care for a sequel to ER given the involvement of Noah Wylie and John Wells. It’s obviously not that.
The concept is interesting and the medical stories compelling though at times they clearly are going way over the top with the emotional heartstring pulling. I get it but still.
My biggest concern is how do they really develop the characters in this format? We see how they are at work and I suppose that’s the point. The dynamics of who likes who and who does not, the butt kissing seems to be the extent.
All of the above said I really enjoy it and glad I saw it just for re upped for S2
IMO , The Pitt's biggest problem is the overwrought real-time conceit. Didn't Jack Bauer teach us 20 years ago what a drag that becomes after episode 2?
But the acting is bringing it. Wyle has a breakdown at the end of season 1 that made me wonder if he--the actor Noah Wyle--is doing ok.
Also there's some reported weirdness about how he both portrays (on screen) and treats (IRL) the characters/cast of color. I hope that's not too "political" to say ()... I'm deliberately restraining myself from writing out the other word/topic which also applies to Wyle and might get me banned.
I believe the show creators did originally intend to reboot ER but Michael Crichton's (creator of ER) wife wouldn't go along so they had to change up the dynamic of the show - add the time element and different characters. As someone who watched ER, the only similarities seem to be the setting and the main actor. Should be a sufficient enough change to make it its own entity. If not, should Crichton's wife sue the creators of Grey's Anatomy, House, Scrubs, The Good Doctor, Chicago Med, New Amsterdam, The Resident, Chicago Hope, Diagnosis: Murder, etc.?
Perhaps the creators of St. Elsewhere or Marcus Welby, MD should sue Michael Crichton's estate?

OK, the scene with her singing and calming the abandoned baby got me back on board.George Zipp wrote: ↑16 Feb 2026 10:59 amI like the Santos character at times.
