As a wise man pointed out on the first page of this thread, hard to sustain success with a formula of simply trying to amass enough runs of offense to make up for surrendering a high volume of runs to the opposition.
Cardinals are tied for dead last by giving up 74 runs this season - despite the fact that 23 teams have played more games.

The point of the initial thread was the excellent offense the Cardinals were were playing .
The fact that the pitching staff ERA is struggling does not detract from the offensive production.
