Has a POBO ever won an executive of the year award for only attempting to do one thing the entire off season and failing at it?
How did he fail?
His 1, 2, 3 goal in the off season was to trade Arenado and he did not trade him so he failed
100%

It's going to take like 83 wins to conquer the NLc. Executive of the Year

Was there an acceptable trade for all parties involved or did one never emerge?
How many players needed this to happen to be successful,? Is it the failure of just one of the parties?

I don’t know any of that. All I know is he stated his 1, 2 and 3 goals were to trade Arenado. He failed all three of those stated goals so I don’t see how you can possibly say he succeeded at those goals he failed. It’s dumb to try to say he didn’t fail at those goals

I dont know but i wouldnt have said he failed at his stated goal. You can list excuses for why he failed that means nothing I am pointing out the facts. His 1, 2, 3 goals that he stated were to trade Arenado he failed to do so and it looks like early on he was saved from making another dumb move because he failed at his only offseason goals

As long as he’s still unemployed at the end of the season, fine.
Yep. I may throw up in my mouth a bit when announced, but a celabratory beer for a miracle season can wash it back down.

That’s so simple even Snouty should be able to figure it out if given a head start.

I'll just assume you would have called any trade a failure as well. I'll give him credit for not caving in and making a bad deal.

No that is your assumption and its not a good one. I give Mo credit where credit is due both good and bad. I knew they wouldn't get much for him the Rockies didn't get much for him when he was elite and he had a bad season, was owed a lot of money and the teams he agreed to go to were limited. But I will agree to disagree on the subject. I will call it what it is him failing at his three stated off season goals and being rescued from making a dumb move by Arenado when he declined to waive his NTC.

That's fair but we don't know what the return might have been from Houston so your assumption that he was saved from a bad move is not a good one. I know that Nado has been good so far and I'll take it.

Not attaining a mandate is failure. Not attaining a goal is acknowledging that features need to fall in place over which Mo had no control. Not making a bad trade is far more significant. I am glad he was unable to achieve his goal. I never considered Arenado gone.

Cards win the division Mo will win another executive of the year. Look at all of the draft picks starting for the Cardinals.
Nootbaar, Scott, Walker in the OF. Then you have Herrera and Winn and Gorman. Burly and Donovan as well.
The SP looks like very competent.
Looks better than last year. Long season.
Oli might even become manager of the year. Let Chaim sift thru that.
