Re: If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game
I'd love to see Noot's stat line if he could start 140+
Re: If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game
I didn't think you were that high on Noot...

There will be games where other players will look like the most critical...Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 09:05 am He's the most critical player in this lineup and will be the whole season long. As long as he stays healthy, they have a real shot of making some noise.
Can't base everything on game one...
Re: If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game
Time for Noot to hopefully stay healthy and step up.
He should hit 1st or 2nd for sure.
Not going to get into over analyzing the lineup after one game.
Oli chose to alternate with L/R/L/R/L/R.
Ok fine.
BTW.....isn’t it Mootbaar???!?

There is no argument, but would you send Scott down and keep the 25-year-old who has never hit, majors or minors? One has the potential to hit.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 13:09 pmSiani catches that ball...
He can't hit, but he's GG Caliber in Center...

Re: If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game
As goes Noot so goes the team this year.
He is the new team leader and the perfect offensive spark.
I don’t think Siani gets to that ball last night but one thing we can all agree on is that Nootbaar wouldn’t have caught it.
On another note.
I have no problem with Pages coming in after Siani pinch ran to catch the ninth. I’d prefer to use pages that way almost daily than to split starts but leave Scott II and Walker alone.

I think you’re the only one basing it off of one gameecleme22 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 14:17 pmThere will be games where other players will look like the most critical...Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 09:05 am He's the most critical player in this lineup and will be the whole season long. Sprint speed does not measure the jump an outfielder gets or his route to the ball. IMHO, at this point in their respective careers, Siani is at least the equal to Scott in CF.rockondlouie wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 14:08 pm That catch not only required incredible hand-eye/glove coordination but SPRINT SPEED:
VSII Sprint Speed:
30
Ranks in the Top 1% of all of MLB
M. Siani Sprint Speed:
28.3
Ranks in the Top 24% of MLB
I was at the game, JMO but I don't think Sinai gets there.

If I were running this team, Koperniak would be on the roster and Siani would not. If after 30 games or so, Scott can't hit Mendoza, I might send him down and bring Siani up.ClassicO wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 14:47 pmThere is no argument, but would you send Scott down and keep the 25-year-old who has never hit, majors or minors? My hope is Scott seizes this job similar to McGee in 1982.

Agree. A team like this (bad offense) can’t afford two defense-only players. Koperniak earned it.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 16:35 pmIf I were running this team, Koperniak would be on the roster and Siani would not. Noot at leadoff completely changes this lineup for the better. Can't wait to see 140+ games with Noot leading off.

Absolutely, love his energy level and his ability at the plate. Love the patience when no one is on and his ability to hit it hard when guys are on. Close pitches outside the zone he is right more than wrong. Has the ability to be a SPECIAL player.TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 15:00 pm As goes Noot so goes the team this year.

Re: If Noot doesn't leadoff they lose this game
He has a career .359 OBP and .826 OPS leading off. Compare that to the abysmal winns sub .300 OBP and Donovan’s .314 OBP leading off last season and his bat was missed. With him in the lineup he drives in runs at the top of the order and gets on base for the bats behind him. So I would say hes a critical piece of the lineup he lengthens it big time when he’s healthy. The only question is will he stay healthyAlex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 17:35 pmHe is.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 16:31 pmI think you’re the only one basing it off of one gameecleme22 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 14:17 pmThere will be games where other players will look like the most critical...Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 09:05 am He's the most critical player in this lineup and will be the whole season long. But what sprint speed does do is allow and OF'er to compensate for whatever perceived advantage (and I'm sure he has one) Siani has in "jumps &routes".

Yup well aware of Noots numbers always why I (bleep) and moan to get his tail at leadoff. 0 intelligence using anyone else when he is healthy.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025 18:28 pmHe has a career .359 OBP and .826 OPS leading off.
