Top 10-15 RHHer in MLB
That is as long as he's not WASTED in the #2 hole where his "impact" would be limited.![]()

Mo, "blah , blah...We don't need them......"
Mo, " blah blah...We do need them...."
Lost track, what is the front office varying position this year lol , it seems to just be invented to match the roster Mo has on hand at the time lol

FACT
.848 OPS in 2024 ranked #13 in MLB among RHHers.

Yes, I agree with Future. One of the biggest problems is that the Cards lineup is so short, these tougher MLB pitchers (and managers) will just pitch around WC and IH. Baker, Burly et al have to make them pay before that changes.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 10:29 am Willson Contreras, he’s 27th in OPS over the last 2 years. He’s our best hitter.
You hope Arenado can rebound, but I doubt it.
Herrera had an .800 OPS last year, if he can repeat that or build on it (he’s had a really nice spring), then that’s close to an impact bat.
And I think Noot’s spring gives hope that if he stays healthy he could have a breakout year. But I still think his floor is a very solid top of the order contributor, same as Donovan.
I’m not sure any of them are truly “impact”, but the depth of the lineup might be good enough for this division. There’s a lot of “ifs” and “hopes”, but they play the games for a reason. We should soon find out.

And 11th in OPS among RH hitters since 2023. 14th if you go back 3 years.
Either way, he’s what you’ve said he is.

And that was while being an almost FT catcher where he was getting beat up (foul tips, balls in the dirt off a shoulder or wrist, ect...) like all catchers do behind the plate!Futuregm2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 12:51 pmAnd 11th in OPS among RH hitters since 2023. 14th if you go back 3 years.

Playing 1st base will keep his energy level up and (hopefully) away from injuries.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's a NL all-star this season.

Contreras and Herrera.
Re: Who will be the impact bat?
Right. If anyone hits 25 HRs besides those 3 it will be unexpected. And if anyone besides them hits 30 HRs or 100 RBIs it would be the miracle of the decade. Craig did it twice, Ludwick once, and Carp hit 30 HRs once, but its been that long since someone came out of nowhere to become an impact bat from our system or from dumpster signings.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 10:29 am Willson Contreras, he’s 27th in OPS over the last 2 years. Re: Who will be the impact bat?
This year is all about seeing IF Walker or Gorman can be that impact player. 500 at bats each to find out once and for all, [shirt] or get off the pot . The great Reset.
Re: Who will be the impact bat?
DeJong hit 30 in 2019, too. And Tyler O’Neill hit 30+ in 2021.Carp4Cy wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 13:02 pmRight. If anyone hits 25 HRs besides those 3 it will be unexpected. Re: Who will be the impact bat?
I have a good feeling about Herrera this year offensively. Why? I don't know. The thing is he has to be somewhat decent defensively to earn enough ABs which may prove difficult.

Re: Who will be the impact bat?
LMAO. JW turns 23 this year...it's not [shirt] or get off the pot time. Not even close. Hell JJ Wetherholt is the same age and is in AA

Re: Who will be the impact bat?
PDJ wasn’t close to 100 RBIs or a true MoTo hitter though.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 13:11 pmDeJong hit 30 in 2019, too. TO was very successful here, for a year. Good point.
