The Orioles announced that they’ve signed Kyle Gibson to a one-year contract. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that it’s a $5.25MM guarantee. The Rowley Sports Management client can earn another $1.525MM in performance bonuses, Rosenthal adds. Baltimore placed Kyle Bradish, who underwent elbow surgery last June, on the 60-day injured list to open a roster spot.

Signed him too late in spring he will be a dumpster fire
Yeah, for a team like the Orioles, that expects to compete, it's worth a prospect or 2 to trade for guy
that's been in camp all spring. They could have found someone.
The Orioles should have had Mo as their GM all these years. They would have done much better.

In the last two years they’ve spent $192,000,000 less than the Cardinals, but outperformed them by 38 games in a tougher division. So… maybe not all of them?

Now how many 100 loss seasons since 2018 and what draft position did they have because of their absolutely being a horrible team?
And what have they sctually won, other than your shortsighted, lack of context, envy?

I’m so glad the Cardinals haven’t any, because they have so much to show for it.

One team tanks and has nothing to show for it; one team doesn’t tank and has nothing to show for it. Same result. What’s the better way.

The Orioles have an excellent young core with others like Holliday and Mayo soon to make their marks. With a new owner I thought they would spend more on high end pitching. The Cardinals have hopes and prayers for Gorman and Walker, though Winn has established himself.

Thanx good input. Gibson at 5 M won’t hurt them especially in a division where starters innings are numbered.

Definitely not the same result. The Orioles have a significantly better team.
Wish it were that simple. NONE of them have built up their arms close to enough to endure the whole season with 180 innings. That would be delusional. But, Mo is that!

I'm sure he's glad to be playing for a winner.
What have they won?
Their division in 23, followed by 20 games over 500 another playoff appearance in 24
In addition, you have one team that plays in the most competitive division year in and year out compared to another that plays in the absolute worst. Can't wait for the encouraging message our wonderful organizational leaders will communicate to the fans after this year.
