Snuggerud isn't signing unless he gets an NHL game this year to burn a year of his ELC.

Couldn’t they just sign him to a 2 year entry level if he didn’t play a game this year (if that’s his hang up to signing)?Like, why wouldn’t he sign after he finishes this year? I highly doubt he’s going to skip signing in order to become a UFA after being with the Blues in training camp for 3 straight years.

On another note, if Jimmy S was available today (which he isn't nor will he be), but who would you sit for him? I don't think they would tinker with the lineup to give him a look right now.
Agree, do not tinker right now. If, heaven forbid, things take a hard turn south, give him and Dvo both a cup of coffee this year just to get a look at how they will play in the big boy league.

And good news on Colt55.
I don't think it makes sense to burn a year of Dvorsky's ELC at this point. There are only 13 games left. He's not even the best player in Springfield.

He has signed his ELC so he has already burned a year. 2027-28 will be his RFA year.

What makes you say that?

Why wouldn't he want to get pro playoff experience at Springfield with prospects he will likely be playing with for the foreseeable future?

You assume he would rather just do nothing after his season is over?

I doubt they would even send him down there. If/when he signs he will most likely be on the big club so he can experience. Not necessarily playing but just the experience of it so he knows what to work on in the off season.

I was thinking that could be the scenario, but he's still only 20 until June so despite Army saying last year at this time that he's a man, I think it's still possible he gets his feet wet with Springfield. He would have to replace someone on this roster that is meshing well. Texier would be the guy but no idea what's going on there.

Didn't Armstrong specifically say in an interview a couple of months ago that the goal was for Snuggerud to join the team right after his college season ends to play in the playoffs?

up until ~2 weeks ago, it would have been easy to slide him into the 3rd line, but...

still think Tex centering him and Bolduc would be a lot of fun to watch

I would entertain that line, but with Bolduc at C (and not right now).

Unless there is a drastic injury in the next few weeks I'd imagine Alex Texiers time as a Blue are done.

Hard to disagree, but he's signed through next year at $2.1M and is an RFA after, so something will have to happen.

I never understood the Tex signing from day 1. I'm guessing it was plan B in case the offer sheets got matched by Edm?

I just saw it as a young player to add to the mix. Seems like his mentality is what's holding him back. The tools have always been there.

Low-risk signing that hasn't paid off. Young center coming off 30-point season was worth that contract.

It was a trade and sign that made sense at the time as he was coming off a 12-18-30 year, is a center, has great speed, is young, and had shown improvement every season.

I have to imagine his injury right at the end of game #1 completely derailed his season. When he's had opportunities I don't know if he's played poorly, but he also hasn't done the little things that would get him more playing time.

Now with the way things have been going you don't want to upset anything so now he just sits.
