I've been "entertained" all year.......watching the team grow into something.

For those of us who did predict play offs..... still not there but....you get the picture now.

For the stretch of hockey since the break I don't think I've seen the team play like this since Hitchcock was in place and the Blues were a hard team to play against.
I know they had a good run to make the playoffs in 2019 but I also know Binner was stealing the show most of those games.

That 2 weeks off for the 4 Nations has been an absolute godsend for this team. There simply is no other way to put it.

It got Binnington his focus back, put Parayko on another level(until his injury), and allowed the coaches to properly install Monty's system.

The Blues are playing exactly like they did in 2022 when he was an advisor.

Not to be lost in all of this but Holloway has essentially been a ppg player since Monty took over. Schenn has been an absolute beast, and Kyrou has played a far better all around game. I can't remember the last game the Blues were outshot in fact, it's been a while.

If they can get better on the PK, I like this team, and they will absolutely be a playoff team next season.

Yes to all of this.

The difference most years between picking 8-10th (the best pick we could reasonably get without selling all the 6M+ contracts on the team and starting over) and picking 15-20th (where we will likely end up) isn't that big IMHO. Well worth it to:

a. get to watch much more exciting hockey
b. get the fair weather fans back on board for a playoff chase, and
c. give the developing NHL'ers the chance to play crucial minutes in high pressure situations (think Holloway in OT the other night)

This team has developed an attitude…..a confident, cocky attitude. That attitude is reflected in their play. Very fun team to watch now.

This is Binner's team, I feel like. They've got his attitude for sure.

I get what that break did for them but they actually had some great games going 2-1-1 prior to the break and they came out from it as strong as they went into it.

Agree. Last week, Montgomery made a comment last week (or week before), that he didn't see this coming a month ago.

It's crazy how they haven't missed a beat without Parayko, too. Good times!

Getting Leddy back healthy and Faulk seemingly finding his game has been monumental.

Faulk is looking as good as we've seen him I think. Strong and assertive with the puck.

A few key things I noticed last night:

1) I have not seen puck hounding like that since 2019, the forecheck is non stop

2) our fourth line is contributing in more ways than just hits. The faksa goal was all walker and those three are just clicking right now.

3) listen to the tape to tape passes pop. When you consistently hear that sound you know you are on top of your game. It’s almost as good as a 15ft put hitting center cup.

4) Holloway may end up being the steal of the 2020’s in the nhl. What Edmonton would do to have him back right now. His possession numbers are elite and he improves every game. What would it cost for another team to trade for him now???? A lot

5) binners confidence is otherworldly right now. Watch him play the puck. It’s like he knows nothing bad will happen.

I wouldn't say they were playing poorly, but they weren't playing this good, at least not in my opinion.

Right now there hasn't been a game since that tournament, other than the Dallas game and that had as much to do with fatigue as anything, that the Blues have been outplayed. They are absolutely dominating time of possession, shots on goal, rushes, and high danger chances.

Hell the MVP of the Blues season might very well end up being Don Sweeney.

If he holds onto Monty until the end of the season I sincerely doubt we are in this position. Bannister had them playing to not lose, Monty has them playing to win.

This team is playing incredible right now. So fast and so direct. Not only do they always look like they're on offense, they almost always look like they're always on a power play

If they hadn’t gone on this 16 year which basically came out of nowhere, the criticism would be valid. Army gets mad props in my book for Broberg Holloway and Fowler. Absolute steals all of them.

They've been playing hot lately, but doesn't excuse everything prior to this. They've played more games than those in the Wild Card hunt, they MUST WIN against Van Thursday. They MUST WIN against the Hawks and the 3 against the Preds, and the last game against the Utah Saints could really be the game of the season. Blues can't take a break,
