A lot of potential on the roster. Mostly the same sorry coaching staff with the only changes being Brant Brown, who says all the right things, but in the end has been a JAG as an MLB coach and Jon Jay(I like that hire). This team has failed tremendously developing staples on the roster. I have faith in Bloom but he still doesn’t have the keys to the car just yet. I can see this just as easy being another wasted year until bozo with the bow tie is gone.

I don’t see the logic in calling the mediocre, non playoff, and and failed season in terms of young development, 2024 season a major success because some random anonymous guy in Cards talk predicted it would be worse than one of the historically worst seasons in this teams history and was wrong about it
But I also don’t try to sway with the goal posts anymore so that could be why

No I actually said they would win the division and be one and done in the playoffs. But I was writing off the brewers. I always predict the cardinals to win can’t even be realistic with the predictions always cards will win even faced with overwhelming logic to the contrary I can’t ride against them

I wouldn’t describe myself as happy due to the question marks.
But....I don’t get the doom and gloom either.
The division lacks a heavyweight team as they all reside in the East or West.
Cards certainly need some younger guys to [shirt] or get off the pot.
Health across the division could decide it.

Hyperboles aside, there may have been a moral victory or two improving 12 games without a significant overhaul. I attribute an improved pitching core giving us a chance to win on a nightly basis. 49 saves didn’t hurt. We have a lot to overcome from ‘23-24 position wise and I like the direction we are heading. Mixing metaphors in your sway notwithstanding, progress is a necessary part of escaping the doldrums. Being an optimist is my way to deal with the Cardinal conundrum. I see improvement on the horizon. You are welcome to jump on board when it becomes more apparent to you.

Have you seen the youth? Going young with the 23rd ranked farm last year is a recipe for disaster. Teams go young when they have the Orioles type talent in the farm. You must see something no one else does.

You constantly complain about Melville and think he negatively views certain players. You post incessantly about Melville, so it appears you do listen to those people. The Orioles paid a price for “that” youth. They had the worst overall record in baseball from 2000 thru 2021.
I have seen the youth. We had the best A team in baseball last year. Pretty good AA too. I like a lot of our talent in the minors and we had the 3d best ML record since 2000. Looking forward to see what Chaim can do with our farm. He certainly did well with the Red Sox farm.

Foolish comparison. Nobody has the resources of the Dodgers. I don’t recall giving DeWitt any money last year. How much did you give him?
