If I read the schedule right, it is time to start kicking it in gear.

Sometimes, it is interesting to look at walk totals as players try to fine tune strike zone judgement. The leaders in walks are....

Nootbar -- 8. He also leads the team with an OBA of .467
Baker -- 6. OBA - .433
Herrera -- 6. .440 OBA, he's the only one among the leaders who has fewer than 20 ABs
Scott -- 6. OBA - .464
Wetherhold -- 6 OBA - .308. He has just two hits and likely won't stick with team when they head north, but his strike zone judgement is pretty good.
Fermin -- 5. OBA -- 379
Burleson -- 4. OBA -- .345

None of the above have struck out more than they have walked, a nice trait.

On the other hand, Gorman has just one walk and a 10/1 K/W ratio.

Good news is Gorman is 5 for 13, Herrera is 4 for 6, Baker 3 for 8, Burly 4 for 11, Noot 3 for 7

They should start trying offenses without Scott or Siani in the lineup.
I've heard rumblings they're afraid Noot will get hurt playing CF.
Noot could probably get hurt playing rummy in the clubhouse........

I had high hopes for B. Brown but he can't turn a sows ear (sans WillyC, Hererra, Noot and Donny) into silk purses.

NADO

Siani should be on another team. Scott should be playing CF.
Winn will be okay.
Pages is a backup and won't deliver much hitting.
Nado is a conundrum. How he dropped off so much is worrisome indeed. Hopefully he can right the ship.
Norman- Gorman? He's way too pull heavy. Pitchers see this and give him steady changeups low in the and out of the zone. Until/if he starts hitting to all fields the strikeouts will continue. Simple. Lay off the low pitches and try to hit to all fields. Don't worry about homeruns. Take your shot but then adjust and make contact. Yadi was great at that approach.
Walker - we'll see.
Noot - I'm just not sold on Noot. I know he's got some good numbers but he doesn't seem to be a power hitter or a high average hitter.

Guess you missed the first line:
"Spring stats are meaningless.............."

And spring stats do matter for young hitters, you kinda want to see some improvement....right?
I guess you’re missing the “unless” which negates that. I would rather they were all batting 1.000 but I’m not about to get my panties in a wad over the current situation.
Missed nothing, the "unless" was addressed above.

And no ones got their "panties in a wad"

100%, Sinai is a waste of a roster spot on this team.

Pages is JAG.

Norman either sinks or swims this season, they'll give Walker more time even if he struggles.

Noot's the best all round OF'er on the team and a quality lead-off man, just needs to stay off the IL.

Yeah, it's pretty bad though.
They have next to nothing to work with.
It will take years to acquire and nurture some talent.

From what Bernie reported last season he told BDWJr straight up he'd never seen a bigger mess and a franchise so far behind most of MLB.

But he spent all last season (and now 2025) fixing the mess, Rob Cerfolio was a great hire by Bloom and he's on it now.
