Spring training isn't irrelevant. People are trying to make the team. Pitchers are trying to get people out. Is it the end all be all? Of course not, but shrugging it off like it means nothing belittles the entire process of spring training. Every (bleep) ball player out there wants to win. Your smug comments aside, ask a ballplayer if spring training matters or not.
As I said to the other guy. It's not nothing. Some players are trying to make the team. Some players are trying new things. I get it. But nobody wants to participate in a game where they're down 6 or 8 runs early and get blasted. All players want to win, even in spring training. That being said, they've actually improved somewhat. When I posted this they were at the very bottom of the standings. They've improved some but Gray and Fedde worry me now. No pitcher wants to give up all those runs, even in spring training. I hope Gray isn't injured.iowa blues fan wrote: ↑11 Mar 2025 20:17 pmIn the grapefruit league, the Cardinals are 8-10
The third place team is 8-7.
I wouldn’t interpret any of this to mean anything.
coolscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2025 07:43 amOf course it is. Spring trainng indicates everything for the season going forward.
I’d disagree. It’s at least a minimal indicator of the level of hitting. This concerns me because in real games it’s real pitching.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025 09:42 am Everyone should chill. In no way is Spring Training an indicator on what to expect in the regular season.
You ask them. It means nothingCCard wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025 07:47 amSpring training isn't irrelevant. People are trying to make the team. Pitchers are trying to get people out. Is it the end all be all? Yeah, ask a guy trying to make a team if spring training matters. S[top] T[hose] F[raudulent] U[tterances]scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025 16:37 pmYou ask them. Yes, I expect a competitive team year in and year out. If not then why would you even watch the games. Just bandwagon and wait until they somehow have a good team. No excuses. They could have signed a good to great pitcher and a good to great offensive player and this team would have a real chance. But they decided to cut payroll and cry poor. We're fortunate in that players like Gray said no to trades.
It doesn't. You think Barrero and Koperniak are making the team?CCard wrote: ↑16 Mar 2025 09:16 amYeah, ask a guy trying to make a team if spring training matters. You'd rather have the Sin playing CF? LOLscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2025 09:39 amIt doesn't.
