I’ll now go to my room and continue my pity party.
BTV has Cardinals getting 32.1 while giving up 30.7 in Donovan.

If the Tampa #72nd pick is now the Cards....that's 5 picks in the Top 86....better than last years 4 in the Top 90?

Cijntje confirmed.
Hoping there are additional pieces, this doesn’t sound like a great return if it’s just him.
He’s clearly the centerpiece, and that’s not a good thing.
Why? Top 100 prospect. Big arm. High K rate.

He’s a very good prospect
He won’t be a starter. He’s 5’11”.
Maybe as a closer?
I think there are some starters in there. Including Sonny Gray.

Marcus Stroman (5'7"): A 2-time All-Star, Gold Glove winner, and one of the most successful short pitchers in recent history.
Tim Lincecum (5'11"): Two-time Cy Young winner, known for his incredible power and velocity.
Billy Wagner (5'10"): One of the most dominant left-handed relief pitchers in MLB history.
Pedro Martinez (5'11"): Widely considered one of the best pitchers to ever play, regardless of height.
Sonny Gray (5'11"): A consistent, high-performing starting pitcher.
Johnny Cueto (5'10"): A durable starter with a very high pitch count in his prime.
Marcus Stroman (5'7") is significantly shorter than the league average, proving that shorter players can succeed in the major leagues.
Historical and Other Notable Short Pitchers
Whitey Ford (5'10")
Ron Guidry (5'11")
Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown (5'10")
Roy Oswalt (5'11")
Fernando Rodney (5'11")
Craig Kimbrel (5'11")
David Robertson (5'11")

But all the prospects we got are busts according to Cards Talk.

Cijntje, Peete, Ledbetter, and a Comp B pick, if that’s the full deal.

I’ve been saying that people should temper their expectations on what they were going to get for Donovan. We were never getting haul for him, so I’m good with the trade, if that’s all. I’m giving it a solid B, as of now. To get an A they would have to have gotten a haul, in my opinion. Sucks to trade Donovan, but it was the right move.

Weird that we got two LHH back. Will we ever get some RHH?

The Cards biggest trade asset in years and the FO involves TB? Did Bloom call in sick and let Mo make the deal?

I don't think we'd get that at the trade deadline....I know we wouldn't get a Comp Pick...the draft is over by then

cooler heads...you're right.

So did we get a good future MLB player/s or another bag of HOPE?

This was not the time to do quantity over quality but that could’ve been the best deal out there so (bleep).

Not super wild about this. I like the pitcher, but Peete can't hit. Big power big whiff lefty. Ledbetter is...fine.

But good God, are we gonna start getting some right bats?

I know pitching is a wild card (most drafted pitchers anyways), but man do we have a bunch of them stockpiled. Something has to give, we really do not have much when it comes to OF depth, and high-end exciting hitter in the minors. I am not saying we don't have any, just that it is light.

Going to be a very long few seasons boys & girls.

Cijntje is a MLB player....the role? BUt he's a RHP solely now, hope for Starter....we need them.

I'm not a Peete fan, but he's still young....maybe he lowers the K's and starts to hit the ball? The new lab/hitting instructors seemed to fix Josh Baez in late 2024....so anything can happen. Hope it does

72nd pick in 2026....I hope we go BREWERS strat and draft hard to sign HS prospects....we'll have a lot of money to spend with our BOnus allotment. I look forward to this draft and this pick

its only a 3 way trade if they come to the cards, otherwise that trade could stand alone between Seattle and Tampa .
