I'm not sure how anyone can complain about Broberg. This is just his second full season. On a team with a negative 30 goal differential he's only minus 2. He had the best plus minus in the playoffs. No he's not putting up a lot of points and with his skill level he should. He's not taking a lot of chances which is normal for a team giving up lots of goals. He's going to be a top two defender for a long time.

This has got to be the dumbest thread started on here in 6 months. Princess hates Broberg because someone compared part of his game to Petro….nothing more. Princess rips on his physical game and lack of push back, which is hysterical because he worships Petro who got into ZERO fights while playing in 1,200 games.

The cap will be going up 30% in a three year period. Whether Broberg is the highest paid player on the team doesn’t matter. It’s not His fault that Thomas and Kyrou and Parayko signed their 8 year deals before the cap was set to increase by 30%.
If Broberg gets 9 million….he gets 9 million.

But I would bet my house and my kids that he won’t get a NMC and multiple signing bonuses throughout the contract. And if he asks for those things and gets denied….he won’t cry, take his puck and run home. That’s a guarantee.

OK, good for Eddy. I liked him as a Blues player but he had his issues. That's common among young players. Just because Eddy is +6 doesn't change Broberg, who has years less experience than Eddy. That's always a good question. I know I'd max out term and I wouldn't have a problem with him being the highest paid player. He'll be the highest paid player for only a year or two. By the end of this season he'll be getting close to the 200 game mark they always talk about with defenseman. They'll have a much better picture of his value.

Broberg is an absolute stud he was just mentioned along with Hughes, Makar, Heiskenen as to how deep the Central is with stud defenders. He is absolutely Petro-like, better skater more physical unfortunately Broberg doesn't have the luxury of being on a better team right now
