In that 4 pitch walk, each pitch thrown by Alcala was about six inches closer to the plate than the previous pitch.
Rapid improvement.

...yeah... they're doing it all tonight... longball on offense and some outstanding defense. Even when their starting pitcher has an off night, it is hard to break through for a win here...

Winn was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Mariners due to right knee pain, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Winn's knee has given him problems throughout the season, most recently preventing him from playing Aug. 24 against the Rays.
