Dvorsky is a borderline C?! Was Thomas not a center because he started his career on the wing?
Did you read the Pronman review? It's not the first time that I have heard the issues. When we drafted him, the thought was that he could "develop and improve" his skating. That is evidently not happening.
Have you heard the most true concept in hockey development?
The longer it takes for a prospect to make the NHL, the less of an impact they will bring. Since Dvorsky was drafted, there have been at least a dozen centers that are already skating in the NHL.
We all knew that drafting #10 puts you generally out of the range of top-tier talent. We all thought that Army could somehow find the gem. He didn't. He found what GMs often find at #10 when they fail.
You are an idiot...and stupid. Impossible for you to understand the game, learn facts, etc. Be sure to pick a mental health facility that has access to places where you can possibly learn some facts...
I'll give you a head start: Adam Oates, Phil Esposito, Luc Robitaille are examples of great players with outstanding careers whom were widely-considered to not be top-shelf skaters. I cannot project right now that Dvorsky will have the same career results as them. But I can project that you always will be very mentally slow.
Yep. And you know who else isn't considered that good of a skater...Ryan O'Reilly. That guy who won the Conn Smythe.
Not all skills need to be above average. And especially with hockey intelligence, some "lesser" skills can be minimalized if the hockey intelligence is above average.

In fairness a 4 month old Colton Parayko would have played similar - "baby Parayko"
His reads and decision making were just awful. On that first goal where he swatted the puck was such a bad decision. It showed a lack of confidence and he looked so uncoordinated there.
Game 1 in a game where every played poorly, nerves etc…I get it but he was hard to watch

We have no choice but to give it time, they gambled. Maybe he will gather himself but oh boy.
The upside of this staying what it is right now, is it might shock the Blues into taking real RHD action.

Yeah for sure. I’m cheering for him to succeed. I went back and watched that first goal/sequence a solid 5+ times and can’t grasp what was going through his head, let alone how awkward his execution was. I was laughing each time.

What about Holloway? What was going through his head? He’s the one that started the whole processs. He got caught trying to make a poke check and failed miserably neither Mailloux or Binnington were expecting a complete whiff from 81. You have to get the puck there or the body and he did neither. It allowed Hartmann to catch both 22 and 50 flatfooted. I get it he shouldn’t have batted the puck originally, but the most egregious error on that sequence was from 81.
If you corner the negativity market, eventually one that has some substance will find you, and you'll pretend you were right about everything, and end up learning nothing. but you'll experience what you want: negative company. it is company. that is the main thing.

I think the video is accurate. People have high hopes for Mailloux but it is not based on what he has done but what they hope he can develop into. The reason Habs leadership fell out of graces with him was he was a liability on defense and a major risk taker. That will be one of the first things Army needs to address. I suspect he will get some games early in the year to see how he progresses, but may share time when the games count.
Trades always bring optimism and people thoughts Mailloux was the second coming of Pronger. The cold facts is he was a defensive liability in the minors and a defensive liability with the Habs. The one positive is in the preseason he showed flashes of his offensive potential and could eventually be someone who can run the power play.

Who compared him to Pronger?
Take look at the original trade thread when people were talking about his size.
One cold hard fact was that he was an all star in his two years in the minors. I also don’t consider a defenseman who was rookie of the year and another who has been in the NHL for three years NHL “prospects”.And Reinbacher is hurt every year. So calling Mailoux Montreal’s fourth best defensive prospect is at variance with the facts.
