On a positive note, we're one day closer to the 2028 season opener!

.500 has been a powerful magnet drawing this team the past two seasons. Though after trading three relievers I think they will go south of that mark. Maybe they will land on my preseason 78 win prediction.

With the 14th pick in the 2026 draft the Cardinals select:

OF Brady Harris Trinity Christian Academy Florida. Harris signs with Gators.

It’s frustrating to watch what BDW/Mo have allowed this team to become. They give us this [nonsense] about a reset, finding out what we have when it’s obvious that this is all about spending as little as possible, no matter what this team looks like.

The fan base has left them, they have a starless team that produces little excitement, and an owner and POBO that are completely tone deaf to what is going on at the stadium. How they watch this and aren’t embarrassed to no end is beyond me.

The lineup they put out there today will be the weakest lineup fielded by any team in baseball today. Look at every lineup posted today and find one weaker than the one thrown out there today by the Cardinals.

Expect him to fall apart in last 7 weeks

Threw about 10 changeups in dirt to first 3 hitters and then grooved 92 center cut to Goodman

He is not a closer in any way, shape or form

McGreevy gave up 7 hits, struck out 2 in 6 innings and gave up 3 runs. That’s solid against the Cubs or Dodgers. It’s not good against a terrible team like the Rockies. Then Leahy gave up a run. O’Brien was the only one unscathed, but was probably hit as hard as anyone. And JoJo gave up the 2 run HR.

6 runs over the last 6 innings.

And credit the Rockies, they don’t give up. I saw them come back from down 9-0 to the Pirates. Despite their record, they’ve been playing with heart.
More heart than this bunch

I am glad I didn't see that blown save live.

It was still frustrating to see the results on the game tracker. If I had watched live I wouldn't've been able to contain my frustration. That is a 'no-no' at work.

sigh

I’ll have to check back later tonight as there will be blood in the water.
Tomorrow also! LOL
Honestly.....and you all know I’m not an Oli fan and want him replaced after the season....but not sure today is on him at all?
McGreevy was so so and they had a two run lead.
He went with his three best available relievers(Svanson unavailable) and they have all been very good since the deadline!
Leahy touched for a run.
O’Brien gave up ropes all over the place but defenders were there!
JoJo was obviously the guy for the ninth.
Leadoff walk a killer and when he has struggled that has usually been the issue.
They countered with their big bat and he delivered!
Now...if you say “pitch around him” fine but that puts the tying run in scoring position and the winning run on first.
It sucks losing to these bums but sometimes you have to tip your hat.

+ 100,000,000

very well said.
all true.
DeWitt and Oli are zeroes.
and the guy I despise the most is MO.
he should have been fired years ago for sheer incompetence .

Yeah after Burley homered, not a single runner reached base inning 5-9 against worst bullpen in majors

I know we still think in terms of BDW Jr, but is this really the dawn of the era of BDW III insofar as the money goes?

I thought I'd read that during the end of season presser last year when Mozeliak was asked a question about spending/budget, he turned towards III for affirmation of his answer. And, it was III who handed out the now-infamous (words to the effect) "we'll just cut the budget if fans don't show up" comment during an early 2024 radio interview.
