he had a shoulder impingement coming out of Spring Training. Before that he was great in Spring Training. Went on the IL in late April.

My assessment, and I'm not an expert, is he needs to get the shoulder scoped. Cleaned up. I base this off his continued discomfort and inability to command his fastball while on the mound. His delivery with the fastball has been off from last year...including tonight. His velocity has fallen with the 4 seamer a good 2-3mph over his last 3 starts. He owes tonight to incredible command with his Slider, Curve and Change up early in the counts....and to the lack of discipline by Norfolk hitters. With the offspeed tonight he feasted on most of the RHB inside. It was incredible to watch.

Wait a minute. I don't understand your skepticism about the boy's height. Don't you remember all the stories during spring training about how each team was now accurately measuring each player on the roster to make sure that they had the correct height? There was quite a bit of discussion about how short some of the Cardinal players were shown to be after this new correct measurement process took place. Remember?
