He was overweight when in college at TCU, but lost weight before making it to the show.Joseph-Magrane wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:05 pm Hayes just says that MARP was heavy set when he started his career?
What?
I’m even looking at photos in case I forgot
Never really looked but I remember announcers saying that way back when he had his 50+ doubles .316 avg season. Apparently he weighed 270 lbs his first year in college or something.Joseph-Magrane wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:05 pm Hayes just says that MARP was heavy set when he started his career?

Matt Carpenter was a bit overweight, not extremely, after his Junior year of college at TCU. His coach challenged him to get in shape and make the draft....he was fit and in shape for his Senior YearJackie Chiles wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:11 pmThe salsa thinned him down.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:09 pmNever really looked but I remember announcers saying that way back when he had his 50+ doubles .316 avg season. Allowed 9 ER on 12 hits ?
Batting practice plus for Nola.
Both were hammered big tonight.
There was concern about him being overweight and recovering from tommy john surgery and how it would effevt his future mlb prospects. He then worked with a doctor and lost 40 pounds.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:09 pmHeJoseph-Magrane wrote: ↑14 May 2025 19:05 pm Hayes just says that MARP was heavy set when he started his career?
