I planned on more pitching also, but wanted to shift it to rounds 4-9. Hoped for both Sasaki & Yamamoto… also Logan Webb, but you snagged him one pick before me.

Funny… I think the only real “homer” picks were of former Cardinals. Goldschmidt, Arozarena, Flaherty & Alcantara all went earlier than I would have expected.

The only pick I’m not thrilled about is Pressly in the 12th round. Wanted Fairbanks there, thought he was gone when he wasn’t, and pivoted.
I planned to go hitter heavy and ended up with 6 pitchers in the first 9 rounds.
Two relievers in 8 rounds.

How does FP have you 3rd? Are they foreseeing another Crochet/Houck/Lopez waiver lottery?
My watch list is alive and well.

I was happy to land both Schwellenbach and Cristopher Sanchez. I think they're both outperform candidates. I'm probably quite a bit more bullish on Sugano / Ray / Pfaadt than projections and experts.

Hitters, banking on overperformance from Andres Gimenez, Dylan Crews, Tommy Edman, Lars Nootbaar... and think Vlad has upside to his projection, could be an F U walk year! I could see him running past his HR / RBI / AVG / OPS projections of 31, 98, .298, .895, dreaming on a 2021 season from him.

Grabbed two of my unheralded stashes in Caleb Durbin and Alan Roden. They're projected at 7 HR and 16 SB between them. I think they blow past once they get playing time and I'm expecting both to surpass their PA projections. Durbin is little but maybe a menace.

I had both Sanchez and Schwellenbach last year… good picks. Yahoo probably had Spencer ranked too high, but he finally has a face.

Edman seemed like a stretch even in the 13th round. I’m guessing you had your eyes on a different SS, but missed? Jeremy Peña, Stott and “Babe” Fitzgerald all went down draft.

I missed on virtually every player I came in thinking was a ‘must’. Think I pivoted well, but I’m coming up short on SBs for sure.

Teoscar is available, BTW.

Definitely didn’t target Edman but grabbed him there cause I really didn’t want anyone else on the board. His positional versatility and great lineup made it easier to reach on him. I didn’t have any inclination to take Pena / Neto / Fitz.

I was between Vlad Jr and Lindor at 11. I didn’t expect Yordan to be there at 20 so I pivoted on strategy pretty fast.

Ya screw you for having Yordan. Two spots down and he’s mine. I’m not trading 17 players to get him this year.

I feel like it needs to be said that Mattmitch has four guys named Matt on his team.

Couple of them might be detrimental to his batting average…

Also, I wonder if he’s the only fantasy baseballer to be rostering Edgardo Henriquez? :D

Looks like Alex just lost Shane McClanahan.

Track record for guys with 2 Tommy John surgeries is not good, and that looked bad to me.

There are eight Matts, currently on anyone’s team.

Matt Olson
Matt McLain - mattmitchl44
Matt Chapman - mattmitchl44
Matt Wallner - mattmitchl44
Matthew Boyd
Matt Strahm
Matt Shaw - mattmitchl44
Matthew Liberatore

Is Matt trying to control all the Matts?

That’s a lot of Matts, Matt.

Maybe his middle name is Matt? FanGraphs had this to say about him:
If you’re looking for the next Mason Miller, Henriquez is an outstanding candidate.
I think he's expected back in April, so a short term stash.

What’s his path to saves on that team?

Maybe limited, but maybe get some K, WHIP, ERA value out of him.

Not much else in the IL-eligibles to get overly excited about either. Better to use one on him until I need an IL slot for someone more important.

I actually don't think I drafted any of them, except maybe Shaw, in any mock drafts.

The spirit of Matt compelled you on draft day.
