Blues played well tonight. Strong in the puck. Breakouts were much better. High glove on the rush netted two goals for us. Powerplay goal was a rush, nothing on the setup, still work to be done here.
Nice to see a team response with Thomas out. Kyrou noticeable again in offense.
Hofer gets another shutout. Tried to hand the canes a Muffin late in the 3rd. Thankfully we got some puck luck and they didnt score. Still though, is he the #1 now? Kinda feels that way.

And it wasn't just a good outcome with the same effort and strategy. The Canes have held teams to 13 SOG or less like 4x or something this sesaon. They smother you defensively. Blues not only put 31 on net they shot just as many.DawgDad wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 23:14 pmThey still only got one ES goal and one PP goal. Not out of the woods yet but there were some good signs. Kids and Kyrou played well, and of course Hofer. It obviously helped having Bjugstad back but he was only 4 of 14 on faceoffs. Dvorsky, Snuggs, Stenberg, and Neighbours all played well all over the ice. That 4-pass rush and goal was a thing of beauty.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 21:21 pmThey played some great hockey! Can we see that again, next game or do we get the (bleep) team that gets 18 SOG and loses 4-2?
That was a completely different team tonight but yeah, for sure, none of that happens without HOFer.

I cannot despise the Canes, I like their approach to the game [unlike, say, Vegas]. Also, the NHL seems to think geographically they are my "home" team even though I'm closer to Nashville (time zone thing?). Being a lifelong Blues fan I couldn't become a Preds fan, anyway.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑14 Jan 2026 00:36 amAnd it wasn't just a good outcome with the same effort and strategy. Sorry haven't made it back in a while, thanks for the link but i was working. I normally listen to the broadcast on my phone, but. Kerbs was out, and Brandon Kiley was doing the play by play. That is a special kind of hell.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑13 Jan 2026 20:22 pm

Well, here we go again
I found onhockey.tv. And if you go to the Russian broadcast, then you can see it. You get a little bit of English too in the background, but it’s a good broadcast without the ads I think.
