OU's third down song is so much cooler than that trumpet cramp
Re: GDT: Tigers @ Sooners -- 11 -- ABC
I like the FG. If we would have scored a TD then it is still a 1 score game. If we don’t score we are down by 2 scores and all the momentum is with OU. Getting points is never a bad move in the first half. Our D has the ability to shut OU out the second half.

A high school coach could call better plays - this isn't brain surgery or rocket science.

One team makes adjustments and one team doesn't. Mizzou had just about every break go their way and couldn't take advantage. There's still a chance but they need a touchdown here. It's pretty obvious that they can't rely on their special teams. I can't believe he kicked the fg. Even the announcers seemed like they talked themselves into believing that the fg was a good call.

Agreed. FG was the right call.

The red zone offense has been mediocre all season and it has cost MU

This first half is a prime example of the run, run, run, crowd here.
You have to have balance and you have to have a vertical between the numbers passing game to loosen up the box.
You're not going to consistently drive the ball 70 plus yards without penalties, missed assignments, or a good defensive play.
MU doesn't have the explosive plays needed to beat the real good teams.
Way too much is laid at the feet of the defense.

Yep, Drink is ultra conservative on offense, thinking his defense will keep it close. Unimaginative playcalling is who he is, it’s not just Moore.11WSChamps wrote: ↑22 Nov 2025 12:51 pm This first half is a prime example of the run, run, run, crowd here.

And just the lack of creativity. We overwhelmed OU early, but like a good coaching staff should do, they adjusted. We didn’t, D gave up a huge play, and now we’re down in a game we were dominating. Because the offense just continues to sputter. In the red zone we have to get TD’s or we’re not going to win these games. It’s that simple.11WSChamps wrote: ↑22 Nov 2025 12:51 pm This first half is a prime example of the run, run, run, crowd here.

Drink needs to go after a Bobby Petrino. He is a great recruiter and a very good OC. Plus at his age, keeping him away from female interns should be less of a problem.

If OU gets their passing game going in the second half we are toast. We have to open ip the playbook this half, we have nothing to lose.
Re: GDT: Tigers @ Sooners -- 11 -- ABC
We have a methodical offensive scheme. Thats a good thing until you become predictable which every game we have been and are. Other teams know exactly who has the ball on the run. So even if you want to run the ball, be creative with that! bring in both backs and move one around and be creative with that. Throw some quick strikes over the middle and take shots down field every now and again to keep the other team honest. Dang Drink. Be a gamer.Armchair QB wrote: ↑22 Nov 2025 12:55 pmAnd just the lack of creativity. We overwhelmed OU early, but like a good coaching staff should do, they adjusted. Drink plucked up not going for it with the 300 yard running back. You cant just expect to run down the field with success and then not go for it on 4th and 3 or just kick field goals against a team who is going for touchdowns every time. Either get some imagination on offense to go with your hot shot D or get the heck out of Columbia and we will get some one who know s how to play big boy football with what you have built!
Re: GDT: Tigers @ Sooners -- 11 -- ABC
5 missed tackles and personal foul in 4 plays. Need to get the momentum back.
Re: GDT: Tigers @ Sooners -- 11 -- ABC
You guys notice how OU has adjusted their game plan to start the second half? Now we will if Drink changes his offensive plan in th esecond half.
What separates Mizzou from the big boys is the coaching

I think Drink prefers losing close than trying to win and opening himself up to a blowout. Just seems like his demeanor.Lightning Rod wrote: ↑22 Nov 2025 13:07 pm If OU gets their passing game going in the second half we are toast. We have to open ip the playbook this half, we have nothing to lose.

These ABC announcers are such candy (bleep).
Every aggressive hit is questioned with them.
It's football with grown men. You want to call flag football run down to the local Y.
