why are some surprised at this?
this is only going to keep getting worse until the Cards get new owners. I predicted this years ago.
no top player free agents want to come to Cards to play for a no name manager.. a team that has no super stars or doesn't spend money to try to compete with the best teams in the NL.
the Cards literally have no hope in the future. they are also not great at developing player in the minors and finding gems to turn it around
many Cards fans finally realize this now.. more and more every year. I'm shocked that not all Cards fans don't' realize this yet. there is some out there that think getting rid of the GM or Manager will change things. no .. it's pretty simple and most are starting to realize
the Cardinals will NEVER win another NL Pennant again until they get new owners. I knew thisyears ago already and basically have lost interest in Cardinal baseball because of it.
I would say at least 50% of the fan base knows this now.. but there are still slow fans out there that who don't.
Slow fans? LOL! You mean loyal fans, don’t you?
Is anyone happy with 4 in a row.
Four in a row? Does the parade start at Market and Tucker, or all the way back to 18th? I prefer 20th so I can go to Maggie O’Brien’s first, but maybe we need to win five in a row for that.
Of course people are happy. Beats losing five in a row. But forgive us if it doesn’t take away the sting of years of a gradual slide into irrelevance.
Will only a WS win take away the sting, rat?
1. Replace John Mozeliak. Wasting this year out of loyalty to him is unforgivable.
2. NLCS appearance with a good showing (none of this 2019 NLCS humiliation stuff)
3. Repeat #2.
Bloom takes over after this season. NLCS is downstream, hopefully.
So you can take no pleasure at all in wins during the season?
They’re nice. But again, a win on a Tuesday night against the Pirates doesn’t warrant a ton of celebration.
Well, I’m hoping for a sweep. The first step is .500. It’s a good launching point.
A win and a .500 record would be better than what we have. But if it’s cause for celebration I think we can all agree the standards have fallen around here.

Isn’t calling a poster a ”troll” attacking the poster and not the post? Yes, you know it is, Cranley. You know it is, but rules are for other people, not you. What an insincere person.

Well, the difference is, Rojo, I don’t follow another poster around constantly and stalk them. Check the pattern.

No, that’s not the difference because you are still attacking the poster, which is completely verboten according to you. What an absurd reply. You’re a real piece of work, dude.

Cranny has it right. The first step is always to get back to .500. The next step to packing the park is beat the Cubs. I listen to a lot of the Score 670AM out of Chicago. Everyone's already assuming they'll be in the WS, not just win the Central. Beat the Cubs, Ray and people will come. People will most definitely come.

What do the Cubs have to do with anything? They don’t play the Cubs for another six weeks.

Sorry. I didn't look at the schedule. But it looks like the Cubs are clearly the favorites in the division. And if we want to increase attendance we need to put out a competitive team out there. What better way to prove the Redbirds are competitive than to beat the Cubs? Besides, is Arenado still on the team? And, I like Nootbar & Winn and some of the younger players.

Dude - Just curious. What does a stalker following me around and shadowing me have to do with you?
If you don’t care for me defending myself, it’s very simple - just put me on ignore. Like I have to stalker on ignore. That’s a piece of work for you - that may work.

Let’s just get to .500 and work upward from there.

I think ppl aren't going to games bc the Cardinals don't have a winning team this year.
Mo and Oli being arrogant and smug, while they both do dumb things hasn't helped....

I personally can't because this season has zero chance of leading to any pennant or WS, but i am feeling positive about the Bloom regime

While in high school in Cape, my friends and I drove up to St. Louis for a lot of Cardinals games in the late 70s. I had an ongoing contest with one friend regarding the attendence. We'd both guess the attendence in the third inning, and when it was announced later, the closest guess would get a free beer from the loser. Actual attendance, not paid, was used back then and weeknight crowds were rarely above 20K. Weekend crowds were all over the map, drawing large crowds depending on the opponent and the promotion, even exceeding 40K when the Cubs were in town. Still, crowds of 12K, 14K, 18K, were pretty common and I hones skills at guessing because I really liked free beer.
Nowadays they announce tickets sold, but it appears to me that some of these crowds aren't even hitting the 10K mark of actual attendance. The dismal late 70s, where there hadn't been a playoff appearance in a decade or more and the talent always seemed thin after the top, seemed to have more fan interest at the ballpark than today. Granted, far fewer games were televised and there was no streaming so that may contribute to the disparity today.
