Watching vid on Clarke love seeing his 'crossfire ' motion and how he can throw it outside low and left hitter was swinging at air .

This team could have quite the lefty pitchers in a couple years ... Libby, Doyle, and Clarke With Doyle and Clark very high velocity types
I watched video too

If this kid makes it up here, then he and Doyle are going to be quite a slinging twosome (think J. Hader type slinger w/huge K0's!).

Would be a tight fit…with the coaching staff already in place, that is.

Ditto

We don't know the final cash BDWJr sent but could be as much as $15M(?) in payroll savings that he could let Bloom re-invest!
around $20M if I'm reading it correctly. Boston on the hook for 15M this year. I wonder if they had to pick up the Option for the Trade to go through?
From what I know the option transfers to the acquiring team.

So Gray's $35/2025 salary now cost the Cardinals only $20M equaling a $15M payroll savings if they didn't have to pay for the buyout option.

I'm just pumped that Bloom jumped the market, moved Gray quickly and now can concentrate on NADO, Donovan, ect...
And I was told NOTHING could be done before the Winter Meetings…..
Bloom is making his market not waiting around for MO’s “Developing Market”
So you are a fan today?
I little starter fluid last night got the job done……

LHP is our strength and it just got deeper....that's where we should trade from....not catcher (not yet, at least)

Yeah I wonder if Matthews could be on the move. Perhaps even packaged with Donny to get an absolute stud of a young player or with Arenado to get someone to take his salary. Not that adding Clarke has anything to do with it. But maybe this made such a thought process easier

Or buying playoff paraphanalia.
Haven't had to do that for a while though anyways.

Rosenthal reporting they agreed to rework Gray's contract to a 1 year, $31mm salary plus a mutual option or a $10mm buyout.
oh...okay. What's extra? The $1million? I'm not up on this, but is that the standard NTC Waive fee? did the Buyout increase?

I do wish Gray the best, I liked his stay here...unfortunately we didn't have much of a supporting cast for him
IIRC, he previously was scheduled to make $35mm this year with a club option for 2027 and $5mm buyout. Now it's $31mm in 2026, a mutual option, and a $10mm buyout.

OH BOY

ANOTHER BONUS

THIS LIKELY MEANS

NO PALLANTE in the 2026 ROTATION!

(Especially if Bloom lands another starter when he deals Donny)

was a great trade because at this point Gray is superfluous for the cards...they save some money and get 2 young pitchers one with very good upside potentially

ggnoobs wrote: 25 Nov 2025 11:08 am This is a great deal in my opinion. Fitts will be better than most people think. I wouldn't be surprised (if healthy) that Fitts puts up about equal numbers to Sonny in 2026.

PLUS a great pitching prospect.

PLUS shedding money.

I love it.
Fitts pitched 45 MLB innings with a 5 ERA and 1.3 WHIP last year. What makes you think he will pitch better than Gray?

20MM per MLBTR
That's a net $15M savings, sure hope Dewitt let's Bloom reinvest it!
