It is crazy how teams dominate us in the last 5 minutes of most games. This one turned out okay.

Despite the needed win, we still didn’t look that great and gave up 40 shots to a weak Calgary team. Fortunately, Binnington elevated his game and saved our bacon. Calgary had 5 shots on goal in that partial PP at the start of the 3rd period and Binny made several other key stops throughout the 3rd period.

Also, Calgary just barely missed the net on a couple screen shots that Jordan never even saw.

Enjoy the W, but man, we still have a lot needing improvement.

Agreed Hazelwood. Played not to lose.

Happy they won, but the last two periods was not winning hockey.

Too passive. Couldn't cycle. Dump and change hockey with a shortened bench. Didnt exactly play well after the 1st. Calgary isnt a very good team, but gave up 40 shots to them? They barely held on at the end.

I just can't figure this team out. Hope we play better vs Philly. Maybe all the trade talk has them playing tight. I dunno, but its frustrating to watch. Doesn't look fun to play either.

It's bad that we allowed 40 shots against the freakin Flames, but maybe that volume helped Binny find his groove again. He looked great tonight.

I don’t know if that’s bad coaching or just bad playmaking on the guys on the ice. But it’s shortening my life span and driving me to drink.

Granted, it’s a very short drive. Well, actually not a drive — just a walk to the liquor cabinet.

Exactly. If you rewatch the last 3+ minutes of that game, Blues players barely even crossed center ice. They are aneurysm-inducing passive when it comes to playing defense in close and late situations.

I agree, but Monty said in the post game presser that “we showed great poise” in the last couple of minutes. I don’t know if he’s just trying to be “positive” and not call out anyone in front of the media, but I don’t see it as poise. I see it as passivity and to me it keeps the puck in our zone WAY too much!!!
