Yea I usually hate the end of the season because I know Mo will usually do the bare minimum in the offseason but I’m looking forward to this offseason
+1

they eliminate us tonight
...Yeah... If it had to come, I'd rather that SF do it than the Cubs. Cards took the Giants out last night, and they returned the favor tonight. Now, a useless series in Chi-town. All day games, I think, starting Friday. The Cubs will be resting their first-team guys, not wanting to risk an injury, and the Cards...probably play all the guys who ride the bench most of the games, and the Memphis call-ups

I was gonna watch each game as long as the Cards had something to play for, but now, I may have other priorities. Probably Mizzou on Saturday, and the Chiefs on Sunday.

So the Cards will play 3 meaningless games to end the season.

That will make 25 meaningless games since the beginning of 2011 (15 seasons).

Not meaningless for me . Cards play the Cubs.
Want to be the spoilers as we can knock them out if No.1 WC spot with Padres on their heels.

The Padres have the tiebreaker over the Cubs.
If Cubs win Thurs. Their magic number is 1
Cards win 3 with Oadres winning their last 3 and Cubs would lose home field for wildcard series.

Go Cards ! Beat the Cubs!

Meaningless to me and many others. Especially on Saturday, which features several high-profile college football games.

I will be watching football too. I can record up to 5 different programs on my DirecTV system. So I will have Cards baseball and the football games all being DVR .

Our outfield has been among the worst in baseball for years now. We have the parts to put together an infield. We have catching options. We finally need to fix the outfield. At least two bats are needed.

Assuming that Arenado is gone, we still have Contreras, Burleson, Winn, Wetherholt and Donovan to make up the infield. We have Crooks, Pages, Herrera and Bernal to piece together our catching. What we don’t have is anything close to an outfield. We need at least two productive outfielders. We can’t go into next year with an outfield of Scott, Walker, Nootbaar, Church. This has to be a priority.

Please get us at least two starting pitchers and two productive outfielders. Moving Arenado (knowing we will eat some of it) losing Mikolas, Matz and Fedde opens up some payroll. Gray, McGreevy and Liberatore are a start but two starters are needed. Trade for one and sign one?? Then please fix that outfield.

You mean you don't want to hear Gomer Thompson with his continued shoe shine boy cheerleading?

Unlikely Gray will be here based on his comments. And I don't blame him a bit- he is near the end of his career and wants to be on a competing team.

If Gray changes his mind and decides he wants to move on I’m OK with that too. We still will need two starters and with Gray leaving that just opens up a spot for one of the young guys. Leahy? Mathews? Gray moving on would give us a little more payroll room.

From his recent comments his mind is already changed- just a matter of if they can make a deal happen or not.

Herrera will play OF. His desire to be a catcher again is fools gold
