Three hits in 8 innings...nice.
Re: GDT : Cards vs. Pirates (8/26) ~ 6:45pm CDT
Saggese (earlier) and Burly both called out on strikes on pitches clearly balls.

Residual effect from last night
Umpires are a vindictive bunch

Cardinals pitching, sans Pallante, was very good tonight

And thankfully this game comes to an end
Re: GDT : Cards vs. Pirates (8/26) ~ 6:45pm CDT
And what was it about 13 strikeouts tonight .
About 1 1/2 per inning.. not a recipe for success.
Feel sorry for the fans that attended. One thing to lose in well played exciting game but to sit there for 2 1/2 hours watching Cardinals get just 3 hits total. Yikes!
Not much entertainment with exception if Gorman homer.

You'd have to pay me to sit through a full 9 innings of this team, especially if Mikolas or Pallante started.ramfandan wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 21:26 pmAnd what was it about 13 strikeouts tonight .

Missed the game, was dining and listening to music in Soulard tonight. I knew they were already losing 5-0 in the first off Pallante. Home now and watched the ninth. Anyway, checked in to the GDT to see if anyone continued the "that's Pallante" theme and was not disappointed.
Laughed at postgame Horton "it was fortunate that Pallante completed 5 innings otherwise the bullpen would really be taxed". Really? What difference does it make at this point if the bullpen is taxed? I know, I know, Cranny is still holding out hope for that exciting 3rd Wild Card.

Hey, they were efficient tonight -- 3 runs on 3 hits! Brad musts be ecstatic.
They barely escaped the Pirates last night. Not tonight.
So much for going 11-5 or 12-4 during this 16-game stretch starting with the Rockies series. 5-9 now with 2 games left.
