It wasn't that big of a toss. It bumped into Brandt. He's fine. Let's not make a major case about it. I've seen much worse.hmoss859 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:13 pmIt doesn’t matter what was said dude, Contreas crossed a line you don’t cross, throwing a bat is tabooHoosier59 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 22:11 pm After watching the replay, Willson asked the umpire why he threw him out of the game. He was fairly calm until the umpire told Willson his reason. You could read Wilson’s lips as he said, “ I never said that” , umpire, “Yes you Did” , Willson, now adamantly, “ I never said that” then the umpire replies again and Willson goes berserk! So, whatever the umpire said is what really fired him up. It must have been pretty bad, whatever the umpire said, but we’ll never know what that was. We’ll also never know if he is disciplined for it.
He deserves whatever punishment the league throws at him
And for the record, he asked the umpire "what did I say?" The umpire said "you said to F off". He said "I didn’t say that". Ump said "You told me to F off". Contreras then went nuts and said "now I'm telling you to F off. Now I said F off."
While being ‘walked’ to the dugout, he tossed the bat back. You could see he didn’t mean to hit the coach or anyone really. I like how he added that he hit the coach and the umpire now.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 11:44 amSo while being physically restrained (as you say), he still had the ability to throw (your word) his bat and hit his own coach and the umpire. He did not. It was a toss in the direction of the umpire and others. He did not throw the bat directly at anyone. And there was very little force behind it. Had Brown been paying attention, he doesn't get hit.
That's not defending the action. But I'm not going to go dramatically overboard like you. Geez
No kidding. I had to rewatch it. I thought I missed something. He tossed it back and it didn’t seem intentional.
Absolutely.
Not intentional at all.
Probably needed more pine tar.
Was he restrained from trying to get to the umpire after previously bumping him?JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 11:44 amSo while being physically restrained (as you say), he still had the ability to throw (your word) his bat and hit his own coach and the umpire. Agreed. Talk about overreacting.ecleme22 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 11:34 amThis is really pathetic.hmoss859 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:10 amHe has serious anger issues.
He has been hit 19 times this year and didn't try to get out of the way on any of them. Stands there like a statute and then goes crazy when hit.
After his last HBP, he slams bat on ground and cracks it, then fake tough guy breaks it over his knee. missed 4 games last week because of it, hurt the team.
He is undisciplined at plate when angry, will chase pitches way out of zone. He will make stupid baserunning plays and fielding plays too when angry.
I would have more respect for him if he were to charge the mound, but he's a fake tough guy, who might get his (bleep) kicked.
Here's the kicker, he said, I don't want to waive my NTC, because I already have a ring (yeah David Ross had to replace your (bleep) because Joe Madden could not trust you).
The team would be better off without him during the rebuild.
I think you have issues.
Factually, you are wrongPadsFS07 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:09 pm

….you think he meant to hit Brown?ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:21 pm Just saw it. What a freaking idiot. To not have control of yourself to the point you smoke a guy in the face with your bat is an absolute embarrassment. That looked 100% intentional.
Blatant misrepresentation. Laughably bad and bias filled.hmoss859 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 09:10 amHe has serious anger issues.

I have no idea who he meant to hit, but he 100% knew he was throwing it in the direction of people. Are you really defending this?? At 1:15 he tosses the bat, there is a LOUD gasp from the pitifully small crowd, and he looks at Brown and notices it hit him, then he just doesn't care and continues toward the dugout. The actions were indefensible. To make matters worse, he continues the tirade by throwing more stuff out there.ecleme22 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:22 pm….you think he meant to hit Brown?ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:21 pm Just saw it. Dude, who cares who he tried to hit?? If he was trying to hit the umpire does that change the outcome? He purposely threw the bat towards a group of people, clearly saw (AND heard) he hit someone, didn't give a flying F, and proceeded to trash the filed like a petulant child.ecleme22 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:48 pmSo you think he meant to hit one of his coaches?ShakeyWalton wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 12:29 pmI have no idea who he meant to hit, but he 100% knew he was throwing it in the direction of people.
