Contreras HBP. Again.
I remember so many times when Brock would get hit. He’d go down in so much pain, limp to first… then steal second.
Brock was very rarely hit
...You are right, sir..! According to CoPilot (google's AI software)
Here’s how Lou Brock's (HBP) total stacks up against two other legendary base stealers:
| Player | Career HBPs | Seasons Played | Career Stolen Bases | Notable Traits |
| Lou Brock | 49 | 19 | 938 | Aggressive baserunner, rarely crowded |
| Rickey Henderson | 98 | 25 | 1,406 | Master of disruption, high OBP |
| Tim Raines | 42 | 23 | 808 | Elite leadoff hitter, high contact rate |
Rickey Henderson’s HBP count nearly doubles Brock’s, which makes sense given his longer career and his knack for working deep counts. Tim Raines, despite his speed and longevity, was hit even less often than Brock—perhaps a testament to his smooth swing and plate discipline.
It’s fascinating how these three Hall of Famers, all known for wreaking havoc on the basepaths, had such different experiences with HBPs.

One of the most positive developments since the trade deadline has been increased opportunity and growth from Svanson.
Impressive.

Libby made the one bad pitch through 4.
Miles was very good and they almost lost.
How about giving the guy some run support?
Especially since their starter has been a bum.
Go Cards!
Gotta go more than 4 to be a starter. And an ERA below 5 would be preferable.
ERA for the season coming into tonight was under 4.00 which is very respectable.
How about giving the guy some support??
I support him, but he's not been very good lately. The lack of run support doesnt help but he only went 4 innings. This team needs starters that can go at least close to 6 innings.
You're a Moran.
Lol! I am? You can't even spell the word correctly you bi- polar Bonehead.

Very true....needs to give you six!
But....if he was pitching a shutout we wouldn’t have the lead.
Freeland has been a bum. First inning they needed to put it to him.
First & second no outs and Contreras weakly hits into a DP.
Your best RH bat facing a LH stiff needs to make them pay.
Cards have been feeble ever since that AB.

Rockies ended their streak of 220 games without a shutout on July 23 against the Cardinals.
Rockies will only have to wait 17 games to get another shutout...also against the Cardinals.
Cardinals have a terrible habit of playing to the level of the competition.
Direct indictment of The Marmot's lack of leadership skills.
Yeah ..he's the one not performing
The sole purpose of leaderships is to cause others to develop and succeed.
Indeed, The Marmot is not performing.

The Marmot is a passive manager in the extreme.
Some take risks.
He is terrified of them.
