That single by Winn with runner on 2nd shows one of team ‘s big problems .
Instead of scoring a run, Burly had to be given stop sign by Pops Warner.
A faster runner most likely scores.
Too many starters on this team can’t score from 2nd on a variety of singles.
Just too slow !
No doubt, team is horribly slow and Pops is gun shy about sending runners that get thrown out at the plate, so he throws up the stop sign on most guys.

Didn’t PH for Scott either in same situation in 5th
It’s like Oli is trying to lose on purpose
What would be the point? Not like winning or losing this game is going to make a difference on when our season ends. I'd just as soon let the young guys get the experience.

I don’t think our hitters could even hit our pitching.

and with one out, one run back, Oli doesn't PR for Pages at second base.
next two batters sucked, so it didn't make any difference but it COULD HAVE made a difference

Pages on first, Scott bunts, knowing that even if he gets Pages to second it takes a double for him to score. Chances are Scott will not beat out the bunt anyway because it won't be a good one. The Cards are okay with it because if he doesn't get the bunt down he will K. Such as sad state of affairs.

What’s the purpose of Scott bunting to move slow runner Pages to 2nd.
As we saw earlier when slow Burly was on 2 nd , Pops held him at 3rd whrn Winn singled. So another hit is needed to score Burly. Didn’t happen.
So now you give up an out to get Pages on 2nd but unless you get a double down line or gapper, he won’t be sent home on a base hit either.
With a slow guy like pages on first, I rather let VS II hit away and see if he can get Pages to 2nd with nobody out.

Now we are lucky to have Winn hitting close to Hurly Burly so Burly can clog up the bases and prevent him from running.

Not in a one run game. Might need his bat later. It's burnt them before.

They're trying to win the game, Pozo has been good, Gorman hits .200 against lefties.
