Never mind, then. It’s the local people in St. Louis I don’t get who are so filled with hate they refuse to support a hard working winning team.
They. Don't. Want. To. Support. The. Owner.
Why is this so confusing?
It’s childish. The owner has given the fans one of the best runs in Cardinals history.
He did, but that run has been over for some time. You act like he "gave" it out of some sense of noblesse oblige; that it was a gift granted upon us poor Hoosiers by our better and as a result we owe him tribute and loyalty. It was a deal with equal exchange of value. That's no longer the case.
Cranny is trying to use reverse psychology. It’s as obvious as dog balls. Not gonna work, Cranny. Sorry. Try again.
90 wins or more in 3 of the last 5 full seasons, Rojo.
Guess you forgot that?
Not. Good. Enough.
I, desertrat, don’t want 90+ win seasons. I want (and deserve) World Championships!!!
Yeah, I do. And so should you.
I should deserve World Championships? Really?
Sure, why not? You’ve been supportive and loyal for decades, as have I. Should you EXPECT one? No. But there’s no reason you don’t DESERVE one.
I deserve one? That’s so ridiculous I’ll pass on answering.

Apparently the purpose of this thread is to (buzz) at fans who, have chosen to wait and if this team is for real, but in reality, being mean to DeTwit and Mo-ran. Being a sycophant must be hard work.

You don’t understand. We deserve nothing. The billionaire owner and his millionaire employee deserve our loyalty and money. Work hard. Own nothing. Be happy.

This has as much to do with on field performance as asinine, egotistical and out of touch statements made by management and ownership over the past few years.
So, take it out on the players?
No, it's showing the ownership that they are not an attractive enough option. If it's their lack of enticing players, that's also on management. It's a team game for entertainment. No player is taking it personally.
They need to be sellers at the deadline. Wasting assets on adding this year is a horrible strategy.
So if you sell, you don't get assets back? How do you sell and not get anything back?
You misread what I posted. I said trading prospects to add to this years team would be a horrible strategy. I said I was onboard with selling to get asset back.

If they sell any assets, I hope they’ll still be in a position to vie for the Central title this season.

I don’t think the term “support” is applicable or appropriate to professional sports,
Support is appropriate for one’s university, high school, or family sports where there is an emotional attachment.
Professional sports are transactional…..the company offers an experience, on and off the field..for a fee.
And when the value of the investment exceeds the value of the return….people will no longer invest.

Jesus...Your analysis is completely wrong.
Of course, people can have the same feelings
of support for a pro team as they do with collegiate sports.
Ignorant to think otherwise.

Anyone go to blues game towards the end of the season and in the playoffs? Those games were awesome. The crowd excitement and buzz was awesome.
Something that has been missing at Busch for half a decade. You bottle that success and excitement the fans will come.
you just keep insulting us, shooting t shirts from girls prancing on the dugout, handing out trinkets and hoping we keep throwing out large sums of money.
You cut corners in scouting, development, and infrastructure, Hope nobody notices and ride the bfib 3m per year theory and hope for the best.
The cardinals arrogantly and at times offensively went with that model. It’s bit them in the (donkey).

I said that need to be sellers. Trade the pending free agents for prospects. They should not be adding veterans on expiring contracts wasting prospects in trade. Those prospects can be used towards long-term solution.
Nothing in what I posted said that trading pending free agents would not add prospects.

How about that game Sonny Gray pitched today? He’ll start the first game in the playoffs. Don’t want to try to sell him if we’re doing well.

What a strange take on the situation you described. I've been to more than 100 blues games the last 4 years and at least twice as many Cards games in the same time period.
The Enterprise center only holds around 18k for hockey, it's indoors, everyone is packed in tight. They play half as many games. If the Cards only played half the games in a venue 40% of the size, everyone was packed in tight indoors and the field was the size of the ice, it would be more crazy. The reverse is true also, if the blues played at Busch 81 times it would be a ghost town with low energy.
I've seen empty seats and partially filled sections on weeknights at Enterprise center also. Even in their worst year the Cardinals will still triple the best Blues year in attendance.
