why are some surprised at this?
this is only going to keep getting worse until the Cards get new owners. I predicted this years ago.
no top player free agents want to come to Cards to play for a no name manager.. a team that has no super stars or doesn't spend money to try to compete with the best teams in the NL.
the Cards literally have no hope in the future. they are also not great at developing player in the minors and finding gems to turn it around
many Cards fans finally realize this now.. more and more every year. I'm shocked that not all Cards fans don't' realize this yet. there is some out there that think getting rid of the GM or Manager will change things. no .. it's pretty simple and most are starting to realize
the Cardinals will NEVER win another NL Pennant again until they get new owners. I knew thisyears ago already and basically have lost interest in Cardinal baseball because of it.
I would say at least 50% of the fan base knows this now.. but there are still slow fans out there that who don't.
Slow fans? LOL! You mean loyal fans, don’t you?
Is anyone happy with 4 in a row.

That guy's an idiot. Fans are like pollsters, they only care about the here and now. There's been Blues "fans" screaming in their forum that the Blues re-tool was a fail, they now they have to start over and completely tear it down, fire Army (GM), dump all the vets, and start going for top picks so they can MAYBE compete in 2030. That's been the story from these types of "fans" non-stop for the last 3 years.
Now, at the flip of a coin it seems like, the Blues look like the a young powerhouse set to compete for championships every year for the next decade.
All it takes is a little bit of winning for everything to turn on a dime and this team could look just like the Blues. Not saying it's going to happen, but I'll say the same thing I said about the Blues, I believe the talent is there, it's just a matter of getting the best from everyone at the same time.

Four in a row? Does the parade start at Market and Tucker, or all the way back to 18th? I prefer 20th so I can go to Maggie O’Brien’s first, but maybe we need to win five in a row for that.
Of course people are happy. Beats losing five in a row. But forgive us if it doesn’t take away the sting of years of a gradual slide into irrelevance.

After the Cards win, I have been watching the Cubs games on Marquee Network. Wrigley is always a packed house with a lot of excitement.

Why shouldn't Wrigley be packed ?
Have you ever looked at the Metro population of Chicago vs. St. Louis
Chicago just over 9 million .. St. Louis has 2.2 M in metro area
So OVER 4 TIMES as many people .
You are comparing apples to oranges . or apples to small tangerines is more like it.
Thus far in 2025 , the Cubs average 35,052 per game while the Cards average 28,800
If you had the Chicago White Sox (16,000 per game) .. The total for Chicago is 51,000 compared to St. Louis 28,000
So the Chicago market is over 4 times larger than St. Louis yet their two teams combined don't draw more than TWICE what St. Louis does at Busch.
So the 'packed' Wrigley is not as impressive as it appears. Chicago is the 3rd largest metro in the U.S.
Kinda like the Dodgers averagng 51,000 per game ... Oooh ! and the LA Angels 36,000 That's 87,000 total and their metro area is nearly 13 Million residents ..about 6 St. Louis metro areas in one spot ! So those two teams combined draw about 3 times more than the Cardinals yet they have SIX (6) times the population. Not that impressed either ! St. Louis per capita is still a better baseball city !

They've watched pretty pitiful, uninspired, mostly losing baseball the past two years and they've seen Mo knowingly put on the field a deficient product. It's going to take more than a 4 game win streak to motivate people to plug back in.

Poor attendance this year at Busch has nothing to do with metro size. Cardinals fans come from far and wide. You know that or should know that. Quit being disingenuous and building straw men. The Cardinals have been a drawing machine with competent management. The Cubs now have it and have bona fide stars. The Cardinals do not.

I agree. There is a plan that we will understand at some point. It makes no sense to eat the amount of cash the owners are eating to continue to support Mo.

Actually attendance at both Wrigley and Dodger stadium is very impressive.

Fans are tired of the Arrogance, Gaslighting, Complacency, Incompetence, among other things by this organization and have had enough. Bring back crisp smart exciting talented baseball with great field leadership knowing ownership will do what it takes to win and fans will return.

1. Replace John Mozeliak. Wasting this year out of loyalty to him is unforgivable.
2. NLCS appearance with a good showing (none of this 2019 NLCS humiliation stuff)
3. Repeat #2.
