Isn’t it a bad look if we all get along?
Not exactly in the spirit of Cards Talk, now is it…

Has there been a post with 14 different users quoted in the history of CT? The whole forum?

It’s all fun and games until someone drafts a Cub… or Arozarena. Then the thread will regress to its natural state
ICYMI - the draft is this Sunday at 3:00 PM
Cubs & Arozarena will be drafted…
There used to be a live chat room during the draft - Yahoo may have killed that. Plenty of trash talking there in years passed… seems inevitable that CT will be the platform for some of that, eventually

Or the trash talking when a trade request is denied. I can see AOF telling the person who denied his trade request that they didn’t understand the trade.

You just earned yourself a bevy of lowball trade offers.

I noticed that in last year’s FF Draft. Totally weak on Yahoo’s part.
Yahoo is getting a little to dictator-y lately. I’ll occasionally comment under an article and it’s 50/50 whether they approve it. I’m not even trying to be a d¡ck, and they’ll reject it.
I’m all for capturing the trash talk on CT and leaving evidence to reference during the season. The closest we’ll ever get to putting your money where your mouth is
There is a message board (as you discovered), but it’s tucked away where nobody even sees it. They’re definitely trying to scale back the amount of data all this takes up on a broad scale. Yahoo also killed their baseball stats database, which wasn’t great, but a quick and handy tool for checking basic splits and matchups.
Re: Money where your mouth is, we *might* be able to make this a cash league next year, with a super low buy-in.

BTW - what are we doing for positional eligibility throughout the season? Can positions only be added, or can they also be taken away?
For example, Brendan Donovan has 1B, 2B, and OF eligibility right now. But let's say he only plays 2B for the first month, two months, etc. At some point will his 1B and OF eligibility disappear?
Or is it like, if he gets plugged in to play 3B enough times, 3B will be added to his initial positional eligibility, but his original list never gets subtracted from?
Once they have eligibility, they keep it for the season. Additional positions will be added if they play a certain amount of time (can't recall if it's 5/10/15 games). No positions will be taken away until the following season.
I haven't looked at him in Yahoo, but I think Henry Davis is an example... he was a catcher but didn't play enough to qualify to keep that eligibility, so he's only an OF in some formats in 2024. He won't get catcher eligibility back until he plays it a bit.
If Donovan doesn't play OF this year, he would lose that eligibility in 2025.

Unless they changed it, they use different qualifiers for eligibility… games started and games played. I think it’s about 10 starts, and they’re eligible.

Teams are locked in.
I’ll have to reassign a team if someone wants out, I think.

All good. I'll try again to see if anything is available in the morning. I had to travel earlier this month and didn't have access or time to claim a team. Good luck to ALL!!!!

Nothing will be available tomorrow. The teams are all locked in. I will have to reassign a manager to an existing team, for you to get in.

Word of caution - just looked at Yahoo’s pre-draft rankings, and they are completely screwed. If you haven’t saved from there, it should default to the current X-rating, in-draft for those who aren’t present. The X-ratings should yield much better results.

Yeah, I just looked at the yahoo rankings. I’ll do my best to make the draft. Nothing worse than running a team with players you don’t want.

Yahoo rankings are always suspect. Also, I’ve noticed the simulated mock drafts ignore your preferred list.
I’ve run a couple and it’s auto-drafted me guys I’m ignoring. Have you had any luck? I feel like I’m missing a setting
I was only trying to get it set to have an available list of players I anticipate will be available/desirable for my turns. The default “pre-draft” rankings are
entirely different from their normal player list that is visible on the league page or in live/mock drafts.
The “good” news - I experienced the same thing you did. It will use their normal rankings if you get pushed to auto-pick. I expect the same would happen if never present at all,and have read accounts of this being the case. It’s difficult to think of this as “good”, but it is - unless you had time to individually go through 2,000 players on the ‘pre-draft’ rankings, whatever list you could have generated will be terrible.
If you end up on auto-pick, it appears the X-rankings will be used by default, and it will automatically draft the highest ranked, non-drafted player.
