My desires are:
1 - Holliday (not happening)
2 - Seth Hernandez who very well may be available but the cardinals probably see him as too risky
3 - I'm starting to like JoJo Parker

My 3 round cardinal mock draft.
5. JoJo Parker- cardinals fall in love with the Mississippi high school shortstop. Has enough pop to move to third if needed.
55. JB Middleton- ace potential with 3 plus pitches. Falls to 55 because of size.
72. Jacob Parker- Bash brothers are coming to stl. We finally get a decent rf prospect. Has great exit velos and enough arm to man right field.
89. Aj Russell- Tommy John surgery kept him from being a 1st rounder. Has an 80 grade fastball. Worst case he becomes our closer.
Cards also draft Mizzou qb horn in the 7th round. Book it.
AJ Russell is too good to drop that far. Injury/Recovery/More Surgery concerns surround him, but his Fastball has been legendary for over 3 years. Someone takes the plunge/gamble on him in the 40-50 range. No reason not to, imo.
Middleton goes in the same range 40-50, maybe 30's...that will depend on the run on HS SS, which there are plenty....if there's a serious run on HS SS, then players like Middleton could drop to 55, but that's his floor.
The Parker Bros have been a dream of mine. Jacob has the power....and it would great to have a proper OF prospect that isn't so wound tight and gets hurt every 2 weeks. You don't need to be body builder to be hit for power....if we draft Irish, I don't see Jacob being drafted.
JoJo would save the Cards money

Kiley McDaniel's article :
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/456 ... s-mariners
St. Louis Cardinals
Day 1 picks: No. 5, No. 55, No. 72, No. 89
Bonus pool: $14,238,300
One big question: Will Chaim Bloom's influence be felt in this year's draft?
The Cards haven't picked a high school player in the top 10 rounds in the past three drafts, instead leaning heavily into college pitching.
While in control in Boston, Bloom wasn't shy about draft prep position players at high picks, including Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer and Nick Yorke. Bloom will be taking control of the Cardinals front office after this season, so it is an open question if his preferences will be felt a few months before he is the team's top decision-maker.
Prep shortstops Eli Willits, JoJo Parker and Billy Carlson have all been tied here, with the other college players projected in this range of the draft also mentioned.

Drafting both Parker’s would likely be the story of the 2025 draft.
Not the fact that they are fraternal twins but their family life story.
Father cervical spine injury HS football at 16 same HS..wheelchair bound
Told he never finish school.. or ever have a family .
Overcame tons of obstacles..college law degree now sitting judge
Instilled character and faith overcoming hardships to his boys.
These kids will be no prima donna types. Overcoming hard times playing won’t overwhelm the twins . They have intangibles that will enable them to succeed.
In addition imagine the Cardinals with Triple J threat in future.
JJ. JoJo and Jacob.
Franchise dream.

Am I blind or do they not have Jamie Arnold in the first round? That's a pretty big oversight I would think.

being alliterative is the franchise dream... Chaim can't take over fast enough. Throw in JonJon Gazdar as a bench piece. And if we're looking for inclusion, we have several Yaxsons and Yeffersons in the DSL.

Which college hitters did the best in the Cape Cod League? Those usually catch the eye of the Cardinals.

Ethan Petry...2024 Cape Cod MVP

you can see his summer stint with Yarmoth in the CCBL last season. He got injured this season, missed the last 1/3 of the year

Andrew Dutkanych IV....2024 draft pick, Vanderbilt. Drafted injured. Removed from Palm Beach IL, and assigned to the FCL. No move to the FCL IL, so might be making his Pro Debut this week.

Baseball America's FINAL Staff Mock....Carlos Collazo will put forth another mock later this week. Geoff Pontes made our pick
and it was ....
RHP Tyler Bremner, UCSB. Top 3 pick entering the 2025 season, but fell fast after Forearm concerns in his first 2 starts, and middling returns in the first half of the season against weaker opponents. He did turn it up, including the fastball, in the 2nd half to close strong, but the damage seemed to be done to his draft status.
Could the Cards select him at #5? Interesting take by Geoff Pontes. He's been bullish on Bremner all season.
Cards selection is at the 8:10 mark, if you wanted to fast-forward
