This is just like corporate America. If he is agreeable he’ll be here a long time. MS was canned because he was not agreeable.

Shildt was a raging a**hole who people hated working for. Thats why he flamed out in SD so quickly too.

He wasn’t great but He did get results though olis results aren’t good but hey the players are buddies with him so
I guess that’s all that matters

TLR was never Freddie Friendship either but another one that got results.

I often wonder if Shildt was just that bad, or if it’s been over blown because today’s players/younger coaches are just weak as h**l

Unlike Marmol, TLR lost more games in his first four seasons with the Cardinals than he won.

You keep posting this, are you seriously trying to equate Oli w/TLR as a manager?

I’m equating judging a manager in the same time frame that another manager is being judged. I can’t just pick and choose the years from one guy and not another, can you?
There’s nothing to say any other manager would have done a better or worse job than Marmol did in those 4 years.
Marmol, and people will laugh, may be a HOF manager some day, just like other managers that had some bad years or slow starts.
I’m not a huge Marmol fan. I’m trying to be objective.

Oli is a pitiful in game Manager, he brings absolutely nothing to the team by way of creating some offense on an offensively challenged team.

Plus he lacks the simple knowledge to even set his batting order correctly.

Once a minor league manager, always a minor league level manager.
