Wouldn't a Mizzou/SLU matchup in the NCAA Tournament be fun?

Got an opinion about the Tigers? Let's hear it.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking you'd have a hard time finding a UK fan in Louisville who doesn't hate Louisville.

Now, I don't hate the Billikens, I just don't have much respect for them. They're an afterthought for me. They don't play anybody! They just beat down a 6-19 team last night. Try finding a team like that in the SEC at this point in the season. They won't play a ranked team all season. Now give them Missouri's schedule -- including Illinois, KU, Florida, Bama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arky, A&M, Vandy, etc. -- and I'm guessing they'd go .500 at best against those teams, probably a lot worse. They lost to the only P5 team they played -- Stanford at 69 in the NET. We will have no idea how good they are until the NCAAT.
Sadly, based on past experience, SLU stands a better chance of winning a first round tourney game than Mizzou does.

Based on past experiences, how many first round wins does SLU have?

I don't think a Tigers/Billikens game would be such a good idea right now. It would most likely end very badly for Mizzou.

Very badly is an extreme exaggeration, but you just couldn't stop the troll in you from finding a way to attack the team

I don't hate the Billikens either, in fact when Mizzou has had bad seasons I've attempted to follow them, I just can't get into the games the way I do with Mizzou & my other teams I've followed (Blues, Cardinals, even adopting the Chiefs after the Rams moved). However my big gripe with SLU is mainly their fans/media. Any time they have a halfway decent team they start puffing out their chest.

This year is a great example. Mizzou beat Minnesota (#77 in Kenpom) by 23. Listening to the media/fans you would think they lost that game. Beating Minnesota by a large margin didn't mean anything. Meanwhile SLU falls behind George Washington University (#81 in Kenpom) & rallies to win by 3 & it's being used by local sports media as a reason SLU deserves to be a tournament team. Could you imagine what people would be saying if Mizzou lost to Rhode Island sitting somewhere in the low 100's by most ranking systems.

It's been really hard listening to all the sunshine pumping on SLU all year knowing that if Mizzou had beat those teams the same people would act like it's the same as beating a Catholic girls team. I do actually get to a point where I root for SLU to lose just to slow down the hype train. (I definitely got there this year)

Yeah, if the Tigers lost to RI, we'd never hear the end of it. And the Billikens have played 0 ranked teams. And lost to the only P5 team they played -- mighty Stanford. Their schedule vs. the Tigers' is not close to comparable.

CBS Sports Bracketolgy has a first round matchup.

I'm going to assume it's in STL, as Iowa St plays the winner

I'm not so sure you are, in fact, Mr. Nice Guy when it comes to your feelings towards SLU.
