Beer in the dugout during a game, no thanks.
Don't need his type around the kids.

Re: Cheap DH anyone?
Teams were willing to tolerate his nonsense when he was a very productive hitter.
Now that he has dropped off being an a-hole appears to be catching up with him?

Yeah, I thought the Rockies right away. I could see either.Melville wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 22:18 pmCastellanos will get offers from which to choose since any team taking a flyer on him would only be paying the MLB minimum salary.
A bottom feeder hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and flip him at the deadline (if he is hitting well) is the most likely scenario.
Rockies and White Sox might fit.

To my fellow old ones: Can you imagine NC doing that to Fred Hutchinson? Where do we send his body?

Herrera is the DH.

I must admit that I did not see him going to San Diego.Melville wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026 22:18 pmCastellanos will get offers from which to choose since any team taking a flyer on him would only be paying the MLB minimum salary.

Particularly since they had just recently signed Andujar.
With Tatis/Merrill/Laureano in the outfield, and Sheets/Croneworth/Andujar available for 1B/DH duties, there is no obvious fit for Castellanos.
Perhaps Preller in lining up a trade which will clear a path.
Regardless, this drops my accuracy rate from 96.87% to 96.42% - which is disappointing.

Indications are that the Padres are considering Castellanos at first base this year, although he has never played there in MLB.
