3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
That has to be an NHL record. You almost never see games that are tied in the last minute NOT go to OT. For the same goalie (Binnington) to let in a goal against the Stars 3 times in less than 3 weeks I can promise is an all time NHL record
3 shots in the 3rd for Dallas tonight
1-2 last week when the Blues came back from 0-3
Feels completely staged at this point. Binnington didn’t even try on all 3. Benn’s shot fluttered into the middle of the net yet #50 was somehow on his stomach not thinking a cross ice pass is possible?

Benn was WIDE open. No Blues player was anywhere near him. Before that, the Star bringing the puck down the boards and into the Blues zone was stick-checked by three consecutive Blues who weren’t skating - only reaching. If one one of them would have simply gotten in the puck-carrier’s way the goal never would have happened. The Blues’ defensive coverage and one-on-one play is horrible. Stop blaming it all on Binnington.
Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
Players are “wide open” all of the time. Old man Benn’s shut barley crossed the goal line and was shot at the MIDDLE of the net.
You clearly can’t comprehend how easy of a save that was.
It is not normal for a goalie to fall on his stomach when he had all day to get to the other side of his cease
Just embarrassing at this point.

I'm starting to wonder if a smell of GG and '06 are the same person. Same speech patterns, except one is always chirping about DA, and the other Binner. Not defending DA or Binner but kinda sick of the same whaaaaaambulance these whiners post in the same patterns. They might just be AS - artificial stupidity....tubastarr wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 23:42 pm Benn was WIDE open. No Blues player was anywhere near him. they've both been blocked since the early days here. i assumed the same when there was a thread about 2 pages long where those 2 went back and forth until someone else finally got baited into conversation.Inglewood Jack wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 00:13 amI'm starting to wonder if a smell of GG and '06 are the same person. Sock conversation aside, Binnington was flopping all over the place last night like a fish out of water. I'm beginning to suspect that he is trying way too hard. This season csnt end fast enough.
Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
Maybe if Binnington would try blocking shots with his nose
Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
This is just a total bag of dog chit team. They aren't tanking....they just suck. They suck out loud. They suck so hard Dyson is looking to buy them out. This team couldn't score in a whorehouse with a pocket full of money. I've never seen so many games lost in the final minute.
That being said.....it's better that they lose now and hopefully keep this disaster contained to just this one season. Next season a cpl more kids should be ready to come up and hopefully they make a difference right out of the gate. A cpl of bad contracts moved out, a cpl of kids with some new energy come in and this team will be back headed in the right direction again.
We got 20 something games left and we have no choice but to just sit here and grin and bare it. It's gonna be rough but right now it's necessary.

Buchnevich was the forward defending. He chased him down the wall. Then the support from - one of the fastest players on the planet - but he quit skating and offered up a half hearted stick check. He was coasting.
Watch the replay. Watch for when he quits moving his feet. Blue line.
Yep. Hold off on jumping on Parayko or Binnington for that one.

You’ve obviously got no clue about hockey. Benn was completely unchecked and Binnington had to go from post to post to make a save. The reason why Binnington leans forward is to keep the face of the goalie pad flat and as outstretched as possible.stlblue06 wrote: ↑04 Feb 2026 23:28 pm That has to be an NHL record. Binnington has not been good this year, but that goal is NOT on him. Both Neighbours and Kyrou were spectators allowing Benn to get totally open.

Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
This isn't isolated to this year. If you remember from last year, it was pretty routine for the last minute goal to go in during the 6 on 5 stuff. And the guy who was in net for a lot of those was Binner. I didn't really take a ton of stock into it until a buddy of mine who I ended up being in the same city with so we were able to catch a game at a bar, said "doesn't matter, binner will give up a soft one late here." Binner proceeds to, and then the 6 on 5 happens and another one went in to tie it up. We all know the 6 on 5 stuff happened. But now we are witnessing the tie goal game being broken late.
There's something about how the team plays in that moment and the way Binner over pursues pucks, that goofy stuff goes in. I made a comment last night, assuming Binner is still here because he has 0 trade value to a contending team right now unless he just goes otherwordly at the olympics. He has been good about changing his weakness in the offseason. 4 years ago when he was just getting beat left and right it was because he kept coming out of the crease so far that no one was shooting, they just passed for the open net or skated around him and created awkward plays for binner. He fixed that and then had a solid season. This year everyone seems to be attacking his blocker and staying away from his glove. Where he is giving up a ton of goals is from the outside on redirects and just innocent shots at the blocker. Be curious to see if there's anything he can do because that is size related and he's not a big guy.

Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
Yes the key piece to the Blues being famously bad at letting up so many 6 on 5 goals is Binnington. For being such a “playoff stud” or “big game player” he sure does fold during the biggest moments during “non big games”.
5th season in a row of complete (bleep) play from #50. The only difference with this season vs past ones is that there hasn’t been any 2 month “hot streak” to make everyone forget about how bad he has been this season.

It's really kind of unreal. If you want to look at the bright side they played competitive games with some key players missing and didn't hurt their draft position.
Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
Along with no clue about hockey, OG poster has no clue about contemporary goaltending. Goalie has to respect the puck carrier, but also knows that Benn is off to his left and set for a one timer as a left handed shot. When the pass happens you lunge left AND forward. Lunge forward to take away some angle. It's pretty elementary geometry. He's trying to take away the vertical angle. You're just trying to get as much body or gear in front of the shot as possible. Benn fanned on a shot a bit. It was a bit of a knuckle puck, but he still had some heat behind it.Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026 09:29 amYou’ve obviously got no clue about hockey. As to the "key" piece of Blues at 6-5 and late in games is who is out there. 25s "effort" on this play alone is a microcosm of his overall play late in games. If the puck isn't on his stick, he ain't interested and won't work very hard. He was waterskiing on that goal.
Re: 3 last minute GWG in a tie game vs the SAME Team!
Binnington is the reason for the bad year.
There are other reasons. He is the main reason.
He has lost it completely. Even worse than his recent slumps. When you give up 4 or 5 every game its not the team--its the goalie.
Hofer has been a mess as well But much much better than Binner. He has sucked.
