What to do….
Buch
Kyrou
Thomas
Binny
Those four are what, top 5 in pay?
I’m Done until two of these four are traded!
Announcers give way to many excuses for these lame (bleep) players.
Buch and Kyrou (especially) need to be put in the box for pretending to be NHL players after signing big contracts!!!
Coach needs to bench Kyrou for extended time!

Re: What to do….
You have to keep Thomas because he's a center, which are hard to come by. He's our leading scorer, only a -3, and wins 52% of his faceoffs. He's still a very good 2C at the very least. The rest I would trade for the right deal.

Last time I checked Faulk is a leading score and he is a defenseman over a center, now you know why the blues suck this year!!!!

Faulk, Neighbours and Thomas are all tied for team lead in goals after last night’s game.bluecard04 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:17 pm Last time I checked Faulk is a leading score and he is a defenseman over a center, now you know why the blues suck this year!!!!
Faulk is having a fantastic year and most of the rest of the team is collectively not.
That being said, the only way the Blues trade Thomas is via a massive overpayment and them receiving 2 viable centers back in the trade.
And, I can’t see any team doing that.
Instead of dogging on Thomas, maybe ask yourself why guys like Kyrou, Buchnevich, etc are all having terrible years.
Binner I fully expect them to try to trade in the offseason or unless he goes to management and asks for a trade.

Re: What to do….
Faulk will brings value back. Trade him!
Kryou please move him now.
Buch is likely untradeable.
Schenn Is an interesting one for me! I think he brings a decent return but he seems like the only one that sticks up for his teammates consistantly. I see Neighbors and Tucker do it occassionly.
Binner needs to go to a team that has a stronger defensive structure.

Priority for me is:
Kyrou

I think you get the most value from the bottom 3, but i think there is a real problem with the "new" core and that is ultimately Kyrou Buch and Thomas.

Thomas is the least of the problem. He is near the bottom of my list to trade. Is he captain material probably not but he is by far the best the team has.britishblue wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 02:57 am Priority for me is:

Re: What to do….
I dont disagree but ultimately the team was turned over to them when they signed extensions and, apart from a very good couple months at the end of last year, the team has been awful ever since.Zizzle1297 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 03:53 amThomas is the least of the problem. Re: What to do….
Blues are sitting on the 3rd draft position at this point drafting high seems like their best move. 11.5% chance at #1 IF somehow they land Ivar what a story that becomes. Would you take McKenna?

Re: What to do….
I don't think the Blues are using a high draft pick on players that compete is in question and off puck play is a weakness.
Re: What to do….
It's like any other type of investment...they don't always work out. it takes discipline to not pull the trigger too quick but to realize when to cut your losses and recoup as much as possible. With capital investments you can write off and take a loss-carry-forward. In some cases just stopping the cash bleed to better deploy is the best move. See what you can get for Kyrou and get over the "But he is worth more, we should have gotten more..."
Baloney, the market determines what he is worth. Maybe somebody fleeces you?...So what, it ain't working. Approach him, tell him you want him to trade him, you've found a taker and please waive his NTC. If he says no, then WAIVE him. If he is in Springfield, you still have to pay him, but not as much...it is still a cash flow savings and it opens a roster spot.
Start building cash and cap space for the off-season. Shop smartly when the time comes. Don't blow it again. But use it. You cannot count on the Krug LTIR until the start of next season, but that will then become your reserve cash if needed during next season.
It's a business. The players get that. The players and their agents will respect it and see it for what it's worth. They're not going to say, "Look how they treat people."
They're going to respect accountability and that the organization is serious about winning. Pros want to be part of that. If we know so much here about how he is so bad, then those who make their living in that sport know it too. I know nothing about the young man personally. All I know is that he is not delivering for what he is paid. We all have bad days, we all have streaks that seem to be a long time, players have down seasons, but even with the goal scoring in the past, there have been a lot of concerns. If those are justified, who knows? Where there is smoke, there may or may not have been fire... but it's burning now.
Maybe Kyrou is not the complete problem (he's not). But start with him, and decide if & what you want to do with the rest later. I don't believe it would be smart to just jettison the whole bunch.

Re: What to do….
The team is playing like they are waiting for a trade to happen.
Re: What to do….
When I look at the contenders in the rest of the NHL, one thing they have in common: scoring depth.
The Blues. Arguably. Do not have legit scoring depth. Teams can focus on one line to shut them down. Often the top line with Thomas is also tasked with shutting down the opponents top lines. This is a recipe for low goal totals.
Kyrou isnt the problem. Hes a scoring threat every time he steps on the ice with Thomas. We need better production from our players, but that means we need more Kyrous, not less. The gameplan needs to utilize those weapons better.
Ive begun to question Steve Ott. I think it may be time to move on from him. The current offensive gameplan is stifling creativity and it isnt working. The power play is abysmal. We have talent, but Im unsure that talent is being used effectively.

Re: What to do….
We have some good canadates, if a few of our players would like to become super stars, sell a bunch of jerseys, and be real popular with all the girls in St. Louis. Take it upon yourself to just go out there and score a bunch of goals.
Re: What to do….
Thomas is the best player on the Blues. He also plays the most important position. The Center position is also the Blues weakest position. Finally, Thomas is still only 26 years old. He was just a 19 year old rookie in the Blues 2018-19 Cup season. Clearly Thomas is playing hurt this year, but his Cap hit is a bargain.hockey jedi wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:02 pm You have to keep Thomas because he's a center, which are hard to come by.
