Yes sir! and what we saw last night as well as the Fla game was what Gates always taught his guys, even in the winless SEC season......keep playing hard till the end. And because they kept playing till the end, it payed off! (the only exception was that Kansas and Illinois game when they had key players out) So this has to instill something into the team. Lots of moving parts to this team.dhsux wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 15:35 pm This is a team without a one trick pony which is a good thing.
I think Gates is figuring things out in a good way right now and he should get better at his roster moves as the season progresses and the boys know their roles and what is expected.
I don't expect the wins to come easy but what happened in Kentucky can go a long way for this team and coach.

Has he learned not to go back and get his precious headband and allow easy points to the opposition?Rantz wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 15:06 pmTrust me...Crews best days as a Tiger are ahead of him.HoopsGuruII wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 13:19 pm "Crews, who many thought was going to be a starter and prime contributor is getting less playing time, simply because he can't get open. The guy can shoot but they need to figure out some plays for him to get him open or he is JAG."
His biggest problem is that he is not quick enough to play defense at this level.

I was especially happy to see the PT of Mack reduced to 0 in the UK game.

Crews is emotional and I know he did that to show up the ref. He did get fouled and they missed it. But it did cost us on the other end. I don’t think Gates was happy at all. They talked in the game yesterday about Gates at shoot around simulating an awfully called game and made his players respond positively to it.
Crews PT lessened vs Kentucky… I wonder if Crews had a lot to do with Gates’ “lesson”.
