the core will be replaced, by deadline, and finished cleaning

in the off season

Management knows this is a flawed team, who has a snow ball in hells chance to win a series. The pipe dream is over, they know last years run to get in playoffs only pushed it to this year, they were going to clean up if they dropped out last year.

And if you listen to the Blues writer, he said it's not maybe, it's going to happen, they aren't folding, so some of the core will stay on till off season, but Like they did with berglund and oshie, they are prepared to move on from possibly thomas/buch,etc to clean out the core of this team, and cleanse it.

It’s time. Buch has got to go (easier said than done). Kyrou, Faulk, Schenn, Binner are also highly probable too I think, if not downright guaranteed.

Not sure I feel like 18 and 55 will be shown the door just yet though. They are pieces you can immediately start to retool around.

thomas is going no where we havent had a center like him in 2 decades. the following can go

kyrou
buch
schenn
sunny
Suter
Bjstud
Faulk
binnington

you keep
snuggy
dvorsky
stenberg
Holloway
mailoux
parayko
Broberg
fowler

then you bring up
jircek
carbonneau
lindstein
Zherenko

and whatever we get for those guys we get rid of

Let the kids play

Many similar posts regarding trades, but I will still give my 2 cents.... And considering pennies are out of circulation..

Binner won't be traded in the offseason. The return would be very disappointing. The best case scenario for trading him is for him to shine in the Olympics as a big game goalie and then move him at the trade deadline. Even then, I do not think the that Hofer being backed up by Zherenko is the best strategy even for next year, and the return for Binner may still disappoint the asylum.

While that is a step in the right direction, call me unimpressed.

The Blues have already moved on from the 2019 stars, and what did that core dump accomplish? Anything?

Just going to the dump is not the solution. Blues fans should be asking when the Blues are going to the Diamond Shop to get the diamonds. That is the real question that needs to be answered.

I also heard the interview. The writer was positive that Schenn and Faulk were gone. Those two were mentioned by name.

He also said Blues are ready to move on from core group, aka thomas, kyrou, etc, like they did with berglund/oshie

I’m not real sure who these guys want to play for.

They tuned out Berube’s tougher management style, weren’t necessarily responsive to his replacement, and then have completely and totally tuned out and showed up a players coach.

Aside from cutting massive pieces off of this roster to stop the rot, I’m not really sure who you would bring in that this group would be responsive too. They don’t seem to respond to anything.

Is the issue a coaching issue? Or does it go deeper and the players are sending Armstrong a message?

That’s another thing that I can’t really figure

I wouldnt be shocked to see Thomas moved, certainly value wise he will return the most.

I think Buch could be moved, although the return will be meh.

Schenn will return more than we think, he's the type of player playoff teams love.

Faulk will get us a solid return, he's having a great year and plays a position that is always in demand.

Kyrou i suspect gets you a similar "problem" player.

Binnington is so hard to judge. Goalie returns are always unpredictable, i think if he has a strong olympics, combined with his 4 nations and historical playoff performances the return could be very good (he's a missing piece type trade imo).

Being totally honest if you trade 2 of Thomas, Buch and Kyrou thats your core shake up. Those are the players here long term.

The purpose of a dump is to get something young and valuable in return.

ROR, Tarasenko, Barbashev, Pietrangelo et al, are all gone, and there is nothing on the roster or in the pipeline to replace them equally.

Before Doug squats the next time, I recommend that you ask him what happened after the first flush.

Who is this "writer" that has this guaranteed?

Thomas is 26 years old, ppg player and a center.

His down year, so far this year, he's .75 ppg.

So yes, he will bring a trade, good luck winning it including on the "youth" front.

The issue has and continues to be not having a another offensive center to complement Thomas.

He has to do a lot of things that have little to do with trying to generate offense.

The Blues have had how many years to address this?

Thomas is not a future captain. I don't believe anyone on the current roster remotely qualifies but Thomas, Kyrou, Buch and Parayko aren't leaders and their not fire eaters.

This team is more rudderless now than when Backes wore the C.
