Ten of Missouri's 21 scholarship signees in the 2024 class transferred at the end of their first year on campus, including the three most highly-rated recruits in the class.

Yikes! I wonder what the average is for Power 54 schools.

The current scholarship limit is 85, but is moving to 105 for the 2026 season. That's a huge jump, will Mizzou add twenty more players with a scholarship? I believe the current number of players on the active roster is 74.

"I wonder"

Translation: I would rather make an uninformed post than no post at all.

The transfer portal is something that affects every school. Every kid wants playing time and every school is throwing lots of money around. Just a way of life in college sports today. How many football players will end up in the portal? 1200? 1300? 1400? A whole lot is all we know.

This looks to be a good spot for an interesting chart of P5 transfer destinations from and to G5 or lower schools.

That's Missouri in the scrum just to the right of the intersection along with UNC and Purdue.

Big question: what the hell's wrong with Clemson?

List of players now in the portal: currently over 1430. I looked at this site earlier today and the total was about 1380. Big variance from team to team. Alabama has 4 players in the portal, Mizzou 12. Hate losing 2 **** running backs.
Sortable by position, team, etc.

It’s going to be a problem when high end development stalls because guys transfer all the time.

You would think so. Maybe the NFL will notice it someday but finding a solution is the problem. Kids are going to chase the money and there is a lot of money to chase. Kids are refusing to turn pro, staying in school longer. Some of these players literally make more in college than they can as a pro player.

No one knows where this is headed but we are going to see more changes in the next 5 -10 years. While our sons were chasing scholarships and degrees from the best college they could get into, our sons today?? many are chasing the highest dollars available, wherever that is.

Saban said something last week that seemed to make sense. He said NCAA is now basically like the NFL if it only had 1 year contracts and teams were reconstructed annually from scratch. Teams look at the money they can spend and try and recruit to that payroll. Player look at how much money they can get for 1 year and make sure they get the appropriate playing time to give them more opportunity for more money next year.

When the NFL is using 1st and 2nd rounders that have a majority of busts, you’ll start seeing some changes.

Hell, I’d love to see the NCAA weaponize NIL money. But I don’t think they have the nuts to do that.

Roberts still a Tiger.

12 departures and 1 add on......being early in the process I assume most teams are also imbalanced on player movement?
