I agree. If the Cardinals drafted a high school kid and then he went out and performed like Fajardo did as an 18 year old, he'd be a huge prospect.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 21:39 pm Keith law said fajardo if he were his age with his stuff and was eligible for the draft this season would be a first round draft pick

Re: Like Fajardo in this deal
So your solution is to gut the team. It would be different if they were replacing him but now you have to replace 20 homeruns. Think Burleson might be a replacement? But we had Burleson batting last year too, so then if he goes to first then who replaces the spot he was in last year?Bushiro wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025 10:02 amAnd that's the problem....if he was the 3rd or 4th most feared bat on a 95win team that's one thing....the most feared bat on a mediocre team going nowhere that's another....he needed dealt considering the state at which the cards are in right now...CCard wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 12:54 pmWell, he was the most feared bat in the Cards lineup. Don't you think he was? Name me a Card that was feared more.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 12:45 pmHold on. I love Willson Contreras, but you're telling me he was "feared at the plate"? Since when? One of the biggest criticisms I read here for years was that the Cardinals never had any one bat that other teams feared.CCard wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 12:38 pmDid you talk to all the Boston fans? I didn't think so. Prospects have one thing in common, most of them wind up being mediocre or failing. Let me ask you this. Would you rather have a proven hitter that hits 20 homeruns and is feared at the plate or a minor league pitcher that hasn't cracked the big leagues yet and doesn't miss bats? Go ahead, you can answer truthfully.
