At 7 seconds you can see they had temporary seating on the field in Sportsman's Park. The world series wasn't televised until 1947. With no television revenue attendance was where they got revenue. It seems odd today to see temporary seating on the field. The temporary wall extends beyond the dugout

You're welcome. Looking at the play again the shortstop hesitated. Either didn't transfer the ball cleanly or was surprised to see Slaughter trying to score.

The 1940's Cards were a fun team. I have the 1943, 1944, and 1946 world series mlb videos and have watched them many times.

I was Minus 2 years old for the 1946 World Series ! When I was in elementary school in mid=50s I heard some stories about those 1940's teams I missed . I had to wait til age 16 for my first Cardinal WS .

Williams and Musial had quiet Series, and are mostly absent from these highlights.

Some of the colorization is pretty good, but how can they not ensure that the Cardinals bills of their hats be red?
