Bloom on releasing Arenado..”it’s not an option”
On MLB John Denton states that Boom reaffirmed today that releasing Arenado won’t be happening any time soon.
That idea was floated releasing that if no trade partner bites fit Nado this winter that Cardinals would consider eating his entire contract releasing him to open spot on team rather than carrying him for 2026.
Other teams may feel just wait out Cardinals and if Bloom is stuck they hope he gets released as then they could sign Arenado as free agent for less $$.
Bloom must be trying to put that rumor to rest.

Re: Bloom on releasing Arenado..”it’s not an option”
Well I don't see the motivation to release him since there aren't any other 3B challenging for playing time. I think the team can move forward with their plans whether they have Arenado or not.
Re: Bloom on releasing Arenado..”it’s not an option”
The Cardinals have multiple players who are better at 3b right now than N/A.
That was true throughout the 2025 season as well.

Hurdy isn't a 3b...there is no one from 2025 better than Nado at 3b, for the CardsTraveledLessRoad wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:49 pmUnless you're talking about Donovan, no they don't.
Easy
Obvious
Whatever other nonsense comes after this

Statistically, Gorman, Donovan, and even Fermin were all far more productive than N/A in 2025.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:46 pmWho?
You can't name one
Next year, Wetherholt will join that list - at a minimum.
Though unlikely, it would not be a shock if 2 more did as well.

It would be pretty stupid for Bloom to say otherwise publicly.

WAR is a fiction, as those who created the silly toy openly and repeatedly admit.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 19:02 pmWAR says, like many know, you are full of [shirt]Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:54 pmStatistically, Gorman, Donovan, and even Fermin were all far more productive than N/A in 2025.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:46 pmWho?

Unlike fictional fantasy league toys, that is an undeniable fact according to the data.

Statistically Gorman is a zero war player at third base.Melville wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:54 pmStatistically, Gorman, Donovan, and even Fermin were all far more productive than N/A in 2025.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 18:46 pmWho?

NA is well above that and still has a higher ceiling.
JJW is a 2B. And Fermin is not a starter in any reality.

It’s Obvious Fermin is a non-factor
Donovan is gone and Wetherholt is the Correct choice to replace him
