Mariners Interested in Donovan
To me, THIS is the team you want to be trading with. A ton on the farm and a ton of MLB ready pitchers. He fits about 9 holes they currently have and would literally be their catch-all. This is the team to extort: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/ ... iners.html

Surely they've got a SP that they could let loose. And didn't Pierpont work with them? He might know what under the radar guy to try and pry loose, too.

Re: Mariners Interested in Donovan
I doubt they'd trade any of their current starting pitchers. And any one they would trade, probably has the most serious injury flags to worry about. If the Mariners truly want Donovan and the Cards want pitching now + upside later, I propose Logan Evans + Cijntje + Michael Arroyo, as this strikes the fairest balance and mirrors the caliber of packages floated for similarly controlled, versatile All‑Star position players.

I’d rather get an established starter like Logan Gilbert. He would be our ace. We don’t currently have an ace.

But that would be a LOT of contact added to a lineup that desperately needs it. If they could find a spot for Burly

To get a major part of not just 2026 rotation but beyond it needs
to be a player that closes the gap with their rivals. Higher ceiling.
