I definitely understand dumping pozo the cardinals have too many catchers already but man his .345 .885 OPS as a pinch hitter was nice and he came up with some big pinch hits

Pirates or somebody will give him a backup job. He's pleasant and confident hitterOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 16:50 pm I definitely understand dumping pozo the cardinals have too many catchers already but man his .345 .885 OPS as a pinch hitter was nice and he came up with some big pinch hits
Re: Pozo Robberse
He could try to buy a nice big sedan to house his family and maybe use it to run some type of off-season painting business or something. An old Buick Park Ave might work.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 16:53 pmPirates or somebody will give him a backup job. Re: Pozo Robberse King
A little bit, he had a down year this year, but he was good the previous year. He still throws 60% ground balls so that's pretty good. He may get re-signed for less money. He gave up more gopher balls than usual this year. I really liked Pozo and like someone mentioned earlier had some big clutch hits for us. Robberse is injured and Alcala isn't worth the money.imetsatchelpaige wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 17:22 pm Pozo will be a free agent for about 15 minutes.

Munoz already dumped by Reds.

Exactly right.
Happens with quite a few relief pitchers every year.
And STL will do that very thing to replace him as well.

Couldn't this have been done before the Rule 5 picks? Maybe could have saved Blaze and Hansen???

Re: Pozo Robberse King
Blaze Jordan is a below average hitter in both AA and AAA with a lot of plate appearances. This for a DH / 1B / poor 3B guy.
Pete Hansen may not have the fastball for MLB? 88-91 mph and scrapes 94 with only average life?

Yea you’re right about that. I liked him he reminded me of Gerald Perry when he was the pinch hitting extraordinaire for the cardinals but like I said I understand the decision they have better catchers and are deep at that position so I get itscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 16:53 pmPirates or somebody will give him a backup job. Re: Pozo Robberse King
Sounds there is mutual interest between the Cardinals and Pozo in him returning next year.
Re: Pozo Robberse King
Part of determining who to leave unprotected is the odds of them being drafted. Do you really see either player being so highly thought of by another team they’re willing to not only draft them AND keep them on their MLB roster all season? I just don’t see it.Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025 18:54 pm Couldn't this have been done before the Rule 5 picks? Maybe could have saved Blaze and Hansen???
