The skill level has progressed significantly over the past 3 years. They need to keep the momentum going. You are starting to see some kids jump from juniors to play competitive hockey and enjoy the college experience. Dont sleep on the program and try and help anyway possible to get a rink on campus. Its ludicrous that Columbia MO. does not have an ice rink. There is significant interest in youth hockey and the facility in Jeff City is a joke.

Congrats. It's amazing it lasted so long without decent facilities and a long drive from campus. Yay hockey!
They need a much better rink, but that would take owners not looking to make a profit but for the love of the game -- not likely.

Ice Chalet was a great rink. Spent a lot of time there and lots of good memories. Was very depressed when it closed and then became an antique joint.
Might be wrong about this one but didn't Mizzou hockey club have a goalie named Dan Nee back in the late 70's?

When I was in school (later half of 70s) Mizzou had a club hockey team and we even rented out the ice for skating keggers! It wasn’t on campus but it sure was a lot closer than Jefferson City. What happened?

On the other site you have been rambling that you went to Wash U in the latter half of the 70s......
The rink closed due to financial troubles. And Mizzou club hockey disbanded for a few years.

Yes it is. 'Surprisingly they drew big crowds. 1000 or more per game in the 70sMoberly Blues wrote: ↑08 Nov 2025 09:41 am I have attended some games at Jefferson City ,I think it is best entertainment for your money if u love hockey!!!
