The St. Louis grinder fetish is at it again.
We aren't a physical team. And guess what. That's fine.
When we went on the run last year it was with speed, puck possession/movement, and a mobile defense. You still see that during stretches this season. The biggest difference is we can't get a save from the goalies. A perfect example was the second goal against Edmonton. The Blues had a dominate shift in their zone and Broberg got robbed by their goalie. Then Edmonton came down and scored on their very first shot.
Get a few saves and capitalize on some of those dominate stretches and the Blues will be fine.
Too many misfits?

I noticed the ball rolling negatively in Thomas direction in this thread too. I don't understand the evolution of negativity some players grab. Thomas is a playmaker. The fault in his game is when he decides he doesn't want to shoot and he is a more than capable shooter. When the other team starts backing off him and giving him shooting lanes, that's when it's time to complain. Asking him to have physicality to his game is stupid. There are plenty of other skating spots for that.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025 10:19 am The St. Louis grinder fetish is at it again.

Guys this season who shouldn't be getting criticized are a decently small list. Broberg, Faulk, CP55, Fowler, Joseph, Sunny, Thomas, Snuggs, DD. Suter. (I'm sure I forgot someone) Thomas is almost PPG. If you want to say too many misfits, then articulate the reason we are losing. We are top 10 in 5on5 offense. Top 5 in expected goals. Top 10 in expected defense. Top 2 in expected PK. PP is actually middle of the pack to bottom 1/3rd in expected. GOALIE PLAY IS LAST. If you want to point some fingers, you start with the goalie play. Then you can make your way down the list. But when every metric is pointing towards your team being a winning hockey team except 1 major one. Then let's just calm down and let it unfold. Panic button can be pressed at christmas if this team isn't .500 or better.

Didn't Thomas lead the league in points or assists after the break last season? He is a stud. He would have even more points if Buch could finish anything consistently.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025 10:55 amI noticed the ball rolling negatively in Thomas direction in this thread too. He did, It's why I'm backing ya up. Thomas plays his role really well. Every team would take him on his contract. The only downside for Thomas is that he sometimes makes other players games tighter when he decides not too shoot. People will flood into the pass and breakup other peoples sticks when he gets passive. I think there is a direct correlation between his high output runs and him scoring.WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025 11:58 amDidn't Thomas lead the league in points or assists after the break last season?
