Blues have traded Corey Schueneman for Calle Rosen.

Not exactly the vet D man I had in mind, but it works.

Probably because Rosen did too when he was with the Blues. They probably view this Kessel/Mailloux situation as not what they are willing to roll the whole season on. And Rosen knows the team so can be a 6/8 person in the org.

Rosen has more NHL experience AND has played for Monty before.
There is unquestionably more of a "trust" factor with Rosen.

Saw where the Capitals also acquired Sam Bitten from Springfield for future considerations.

Probably a concession we had to make to get Rosen. But since Bitten is on an AHL only deal, it had to be the T-birds trading him to the Hersey Bears instead of the Blues trading him to the Capitals as a part of the Rosen deal.

They just played against Rosen this weekend. Three losing games btw. Tbirds announcer was like "hey Calle Rosen is out there at 31 and can still skate" - they are looking for something to replace what they lost in the puck carrying with Leddy.

They had Scheneman playing with Johannesson. (When he played with Loof it was very six-seven.)

Lindstein they have paired a couple times with 5'10" Wisconsin undraftee Anthony Kehrer who has looked ok, Buchinger and Skinner were together this weekend, though the Lindstein-Skinner pairing is their best one,

Rosen can move the puck, but both he and Schueneman are just guys

I'm glad to see him back.

The dude had 8 freaking goals a few seasons ago for the Blues. I never understood why he never made it here after.

I'm guessing Mailloux's NHL time is about to come to an end and Kessel is pressbox bound. I liked Rosen when he was here better than some of that garbage they used (Leddy, Scandella, Bortz, etc)...he was a +19 on a really horrid Blues team. I'm guessing he's not going to be long in the AHL.

The Mailman kid has to play almost every game the entire season. Growing pains and all.

Totally fine as a third pairing guy, and a good 7th defenseman since he can play either side if needed. Maybe he will be a better partner for Mailloux than Tucker is. I guess we’ll see.

Yes it would be incredibly smart to place LM on waivers right now. Good lord

I'm pretty sure he's waiver exempt due to lack of games required.
