The Ohtani rule determined the outcome of the World Series.

The Ohtani rule determined the outcome of the World Series.
Rojas never gets a meatball in the 9th if Ohtani is not on deck.
And Ohtani is not in the game without MLB baseball creating a rule designed to specifically benefit only him.
Blue Jay win in 9 without the Ohtanii Rule.
MLB is corrupted.

I think your point about a meatball is correct. But it wasn’t that good of a pitch, and an off balance swing. It want crushed.
As for corrupt. You have an industry that touts gambling and alcohol. What do you expect.

Two weak, hanging sliders cost the Jays the WS.

lol. First of all the rule is there for any pitcher in baseball. It needn't be a rule anyway. Othani is the DH. That role doesn't change because a pitcher gets replaced. He is the DH all game. There are things that baseball needs to fix but this ain't it.
Re: The Ohtani rule determined the outcome of the World Series.
The last screen shot and broadcast comment prior to the pitch to Rojas was of Ohtani standing on deck and the pitcher therefore being forced to throw a strike in the middle of the plate.
The Ohtani Rule forced that pitch - and determined which team won the WS.
Disgraceful.

And while I get that and give Ohtani all his props.Melville wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 08:52 amThe last screen shot and broadcast comment prior to the pitch to Rojas was of Ohtani standing on deck and the pitcher therefore being forced to throw a strike in the middle of the plate.

There's no way you throw a ninth place, career .675 OPS hitter an 86 MPH slider when you can hit 96-98 MPH.
He had only hit three HR's all year vs 659 fastballs but four HR's vs 351 breaking balls.
(And I agree, the Ohtani rule needs to disappear)

Rojas had his first hit since October 1st and then hit his second HR of the season in the ninth.

Agree completely! Mel needs to let it go. If something needs changed it would be do away with the DH completely. Otherwise, it plays as it stands.makesnosense wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 08:43 amlol. Inability to score runners from 3b with less than 2 outs is why Toronto lost.

That is true.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 09:44 am Inability to score runners from 3b with less than 2 outs is why Toronto lost.
Both teams missed several opportunities throughout series.
But only one player had a rule created specifically to benefit him and his team - and that rule unquestionably cost the Blue Jays the WS.

I dont agree with the rule because it benefits one player. But Ohtani did very little offensively. Get the number 9 hitter out.Melville wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 10:39 amThat is true.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025 09:44 am Inability to score runners from 3b with less than 2 outs is why Toronto lost.
